Hi all, not sure how many people on this side will be going to the Quo tour this year (!), but if anyone's interested, Stated Quo will be hosting three pre-gig get-togethers. We'll be playing in London, Leeds and Liverpool, with kick-off at around half 2. Sun Dec 11thThe White Horse, London Sat Dec 17th The New Roscoe, Leeds Fri Dec 23rdThe Cavern Club, Liverpool Here's a little of what will hopefully be in store!
I'm new on here, by the way - loving the passionate debates that are going on! Cheers Jimmy

Yep, be a shame not to get in the Christmas spirit..thanks for the heads up..be a bit strange not to go and see the Quo afterwards..but if anything like the FF pre gigs at the Distillers it would be a great afternoon.

U should do Manchester as well since I sold my ticket for 1.99 and like kursaal75 I will find some better place to be than in the arena;) 🍺🍺

Fantastic to watch real passion and the fans of old enjoying themselves and creating a great atmosphere...pity Rossi doesn't understand this and insults the audience at the FF concerts as masturbating in the balcony. What a plonker he is!

God how I miss the jig, not sure the knees are up to it now but I'd slap on the Voltarol beforehand and throw caution to the wind if I knew it was back just one last time.

Can't believe they didn't do the jig on the FF shows. That spoke volumes to me about how little they actually care about what the fans want.

Thanks Dennis! You're right of course: I asked Nuff why they weren't doing it, and he said that Frame didn't want to.
When I asked Frame, he said they'd taken a vote and decided not to do it.
I wonder who had the deciding vote...?

I wonder who had the deciding vote...? Were you at the Hammersmith gigs? For the 2nd night we had paper banners to request the jig. There was this band group huddle where it seemed as if they might do and then then didn't. V disappointing and a bit of a tease too, raising our hopes when Francis knew he wasn't going to do it.

Yes I went to most of the reunion gigs. I got very excited about the huddle, as it reminded me of the Milton Keynes chat during Bye Bye Johnny, where they were working out how much of a jam to do: "five, ten, fifteen minutes?"
Same at Dublin, where Nuff actually plays the bass line for the jig, and Rick and Frame pretend to walk off stage.
It was all about inter-band politics, and not a thought for the fans. Shameful.

To me nothing summed up Rossi's total disinterest in the people who paid for the house in Purley and the hole in his nose more than his utter refusal to do the jig, there had been banners at every FF reunion gig, particularly the second tour asking for it and by Dublin he'd already made his mind up that the FF was over once and for all, so to say playing a few extra minutes of a song and letting the hall resound to the sound of creaky knees and hips was a no go just sums up the man, all smiles on the surface but couldn't give a shit underneath, he's got the money and the lifestyle so sod the fans.
