With Rossi and Edwards. I stole it from the otherside, from the poster Frozenhero. The interview is in Good Times magazine and these are the highlights he picked out
- One of the three new songs was written by Francis, the other two by Andy. Francis admits to liking a lot of Andy's output
- Aquostic II sounds a bit different and more 'refined', compared to the first album
- Hold You Back now sounds "celtic". They used celtic instruments and Rhino was thinking of Steeleye Span while playing the bass. Since it's got the jiggy element in it anyway, that probably makes sense.
- Rhino played double bass for the first time during the recordings and enjoyed that so much that he now wants to 'properly' learn the instrument. Sounds logical for a guy who started on violin and played bass guitar for most of his career!
- Francis doesn't hate the FF, he just doesn't feel like doing it anymore
- QPQ is now officially an AC/DC album
- Rick was 'more involved' with the album compared to Aquostic I, but he generally isn't that crazy about playing acoustically
- Rick is on the mend and will be 'checked through' in September. Francis comments on his lack of self-discipline, but he doesn't sound condescending, rather worried
- Francis' solo album isn't finished, but the plan is to release it May next year. He's written a couple of songs with Hannah Rickard and he thinks he sounds so much better when Hannah and Amy are singing together with him

Thanks FreeWilly and Frozen Hero for alerting us to this interview. I hadn't heard of the magazine and looked it up online. Interesting that its an American mag. Are Quo now finally trying to interest the US market again?, I wonder.
Link their webpage but no sign of Quo in any of the covers listed.
I found the wrong magazine. See below for correct one.

I credited you tbf Tagging me (with the @ in front of my name) would have been better though, as I might have completely missed the thread. No worries though, after all I had planned to post it to this board as well. Kudos for being so damn quick

Wrong on all counts - it's a German magazine: www.goodtimes-magazin.de/I didn't know there was another magazine with the same name, but with such a generic title, I guess it's inevitable!

Blame freewilly - he wrote "Good Times" instead of "GoodTimes" Yes, the German fans are very loyal, this also goes for other bands I love (e.g. Manfred Mann's Earth Band or Saga) and Aquostic was also quite a success here (somewhat surprisingly to me).

Hi All, Just one thing comes to mind here for me as far as the new songs that were written! Surely they could have written a few more for another new material album ? While I can listen to the Aquostic and will listen to Aquostic 2 I am certain that most fans would have preferred the debut of new tracks on a new album and not just as make up tracks on a second acoustic offering....
I mean they could have even taken a leaf out of Van Halens book my trawling their recorded tracks they originally thought no good for whatever album back when and to be fair Van Halens last album sounded good to me, so no reason why Quo could not do the same unless Francis put's his solo project before the bands nowadays ?......
Geoff.

Francis doesn't hate the FF, he just doesn't feel like doing it anymore
I think that's fair enough, I really do.
It's good if he's striking a different tone now. There was never any need to diss the FF, diss Alan and John's playing / stamina, diss Alan's demo's and accuse everyone who wanted more of "being stuck in the 70's".

If Rick was well...I would have thought that this was a statement that was paving the way for anot her tour

Geoff. I thought Quo was Francis' solo project!
