The track I've been dreading but I had to listen....
+ points - Rick sings...
and I quite like the the new riff for it.
But no to the strings and the ladies harmonies...

Better than anything on the first Aquostic. It's punchy and not nearly as twee as i was dreading.

Thanks for the link!
Sounds good! 1974 transformed to 2015. But the ladies.... nah.... But great riff and a good dark feeling...

I am kinda agreeing with this, it's a reminder that they could have pulled off a decent Aquostic album, if not for the harmonica and females....

I was never a great fan of backwater, liked it well enough but not one of my all time greats. This version is to my ears quite good. I like the friskyness of it. Fresh, groovy, I like the girls. Looking forward to the album.
I have to say I like the way Rick sings on all the aquostic tracks. I did not think his voice would suit. But he still seems to rock out the vocals and they really do fit well.

Contrived. That's probably the nicest thing I can say about that.

That awful Accordion is in there also, can't stand Ricks forced vocal, though the Idea of what to do with it was right. perhaps!!

Having just watched a vid on youtube of backwater live in Hammersmith 2014, I've changed my opinion, the acoustic idea was terrible-it's shite.!!

It just reminds me of church music..all there acoustic stuff does..happy clappy gospel music..if they just played it might of sounded better but having girls voices & the violins & the accordion playing just sounds wrong..its like the London Philharmonic Orchestra plays Status Quo...basically i hate it..I reckon Rick is staying away because he knows if he comes back he'll have to play that crap too..

Sounds ok, much prefer the electric version. But not as bad as I thought.

And so this is what Hell must be like. After listening, I quietly shut down the computer, and kissed my wife saying that I'll be back in an hour or two. I walked over to the neighborhood watering hole, drank an inappropriate amount and went back home to bed. May I never hear that musical abortion in my lifetime again.
