Fingers crossed. But if I were Simon Porter or Francis Rossi, I'd start making contingency plans for a Rick-less Quo. Perhaps Porter thinks because Malone has blond hair and can play a guitar that such a thing would work? Sadly, this is perfectly acceptable by the likes of Mr and Mrs Smith of Doncaster, who make up the majority of the crowds. That's who the band are aimed at - people with no mental capacity whatsoever.Hi All, DT, So basically we are all mental forumites because we have great capacity ? well some have anyway.........

Hi All, I agree with MQ at lest they are honest bout what is currently happening despite 'Rick's' poor health. Yes in an ideal world the tour/s would be cancelled all ticket refunded etc.etc.tc. with no problems but as we all know to our cost we do not. I am an FF fan at heart but accept CQ are the current incarnation of Quo no matter what line up it's really that simple. The main thing is 'Freddie and Richie' are temporary substitutes until Rick is a 100% and that should really to all our concerns yes ? We'll deal and no doubt discuss what happens when he is back or not whatever the case maybe.
You either do or do not like the current member line up/Can or cannot listen to the current line up/Buy or not their material/Go or not to their gigs etc.etc etc. At the end of the day the only people who actually know the true reason for carrying on and all the happenings with the bands gig future are the band and their manager we are all making assumptions that A/B or C is what is happening, we should all just await official statements from the horse's mouth a the saying goes.
For all we know the financial cost of cancelling all gigs may not be viable due to contractual obligations and imposition of fines for cancelling no matter what the reason ? As for replacing that Popeye arm of Rick well of coarse nobody wants a replacement, the answer is quite simple don't go or for those who bought their ticket to see the line up with 'Rick' et in touch with the ticket sellers.
I am certain either way they will give refunds or an alternative gig ticket of your choice when he is well enough. After all they are not complete idiots and realise they are disappointing a certain section of fans while laving themselves wide open to being sued f they do nothing to resolve the ticket problems that has happened because of 'Rick' ad his heart scare.
I just think to many on here who are very passionate about the band are getting to worked up over certain events that are occurring, it's much the same as in life shit happens to everybody we deal with it simple...

The only problem here is that the cheaper band sounds.. Cheaper.. John switching shuffle and straight like he doesn't have control anymore. It just don't sound good, I feel very strongly that if this was a band without any connections to QUO, a regular tribute band that sounded exactly the same you guys would laugh at it. The other band though, tight like a mofo.. I think i have to defend John here. JC, was, is- the best drummer Quo have ever had, I've watched him play over nearly 40 years, his performances on stage are awesome. He has that something that no other Quo drummer can produce. His performace at the FF were superb despite Rossi's shameful dis-information campaign. I watched him all the way through the Manchester Appolo gig and he never dropped a beat. I've played in a few bands, and even now Id have him behind the kit in any band even now. A Legendly drummer up there with the greatest in my book.

I agree gmj, JC's probably not the most perfect textbook drummer, (for me he is , but he'll never claim to to be), BUT for Quo he didn't need to be, it was purely his natural "feel" for the songs that made him, added to the rest of the boys, that combined to make them sound so phenomenally good!

I think we are in a position with Francis that he does not want to do anymore Electric after this year. He wants it over with but knows that if they cancelled or waited till Rick was fighting fit again. They would have to re-schedule next year. So I think he would rather get these Summer gigs out of the way. Then maybe if Rick is still not right the Winter Tour will be cancelled. Hi All, TLF, Can you envision Francis doing a U-turn if his plans for life after the LNOTE gigs goes belly up with no interest or is it as some suggest just another gimmick ?
Geoff.
Difficult to say I suppose. I know he digs his heels in, he did that in 1984. Then U turned in 1986.

So its around £40 to see 1 original member of Status Quo and a band perform a predicted set list. Id rather pay £12 to see 1 original member of Status Quo and a band perform IMO a more interesting set...I'm talking about John Coghlan's Quo at the Half Moon Pub in Putney on 30th July. Tickets for the Edinburgh (Ingilston) show have been listed on Itison (www.itison.com) for £19 this morning.

I saw him live and he was amazing ! So I totally agree with the underrated bit. They should have kept him. He was better for me then any that came after.

Oh dear. What have Status Quo become? Does it get any worse than this, and all on the eve of their so called last electrics tour (dumb in itself). I now come on this board just to amuse myself at what a F up this band are (whatever band they are cos they ain't Quo). Granted, I appreciate the need to continue due to financial reasons alone (its business) but the damage to their brand just continues on and on. Rick getting sick again stretches them down to next to nothing. Its one guy, Frame, holding it together. Used to be 4 equal parts! And now look at it!
I just can't fathom anyone following them all through this. I mean, c'mon. No Rick, last electrics tour etc...
How far they came with the reunion and how low they have dropped with Bula and all this.
I actually start to feel sorry for Frame now as he must be gritting his teeth through all this. He's over it. Well over it. But he's stuck. Has to see it through.
And to think it could have gone the other way with Al and JC. Even if it lasted two years it would have been a wonderful two years and great closure for all concerned. Then they could have sailed off into the sunset and done their acoustic thing with sessions musicians - perfect.

So to sum up the contributions on this thread:
Following Rick's HEART ATTACK that could have KILLED HIM he is having an extended recouperation time to ensure he is fighting fit to RETURN to the stage.
Many many Quo fans on message boards and Facebook are wishing him well with his recovery and looking forward to his return.
Some 'REAL FANS' on here are moaning on about getting REFUNDS on their tickets for gigs in SIX MONTHS time!
Un Fucking Believable

Un fucking believable Nothing like a drama Queen though..... If he's including us on here, he must be including Rhino's FB post so..

Hi All, Well if some fans are unhappy with the band maybe we should have 4th split the forum into a few fan genres eh! ? You know like the 'Dear John' video had toilets with a sign on them :- MEN - REAL MEN.....
Muppet Fans! Real Fans! Fans of the band full stop!
If your a fan of the band your a fan of the band it's really that simple, forumites who like myself prefer FF but accept the band has moved on in it's many incarnations, FF only fans,CQ fans only etc.etc.etc. and don't forget we only have these incarnations simply because of contractual obligations after the split with Alan.
we are all on the same forum for the single reason of we like the band no matter what era, we just all have differing ideas and opinions on the whole the main opinion of this thread is for wishing Ricks health improves can we all agree ?.....
Geoff.

Geoff. Differing opinions ? All fine. Being passionate ? All fine as well... insulting others cos they have differing opinions ? Childish and totally unnessecary. But I guess it's not just on our Quoforum, mate, I have seen the same on many other bands and artist sites.
