Cheers for that gatesheadbanger, I was just about to ask didn't Quo tour that much in the 80's. Perhaps Inna you should be thanking, Daren? - I posted an Iron Maiden tour DOH! doh For a moment there I thought you were trying to April fool.

If Porter had to manage the Stones, he wouldn't last very long.

The Yanks didn't like that sort of stuff that's all there is too it.Slade gave it a good go and nothing came of it.The Yanks seem too like really great guitarists and bands that can produce outstanding albums.Robert Christgau a top American music critic said about Quo "the band has no decent singer or guitarist, and criticized their attempts at ballads and blues as "boring". As an American, 'Yank' is an insult to a Southerner, I've never heard of f'n Robert Christgau and back in the day I read all of the magazines. He sounds like the same type of elitist snot who thought The Police were the greatest band ever. They have only multiplied since then. If I'd heard any FF album, I would have been instantly hooked.

I´m also American, and was a rock & roll fan in the 70s, went to a bunch of concerts etc. I was in that world. And it´s my take that if Status Quo had stuck with it on the western shore of the Atlantic, and toured the U.S. (a la RUSH), Status Quo would have been huge in the United States. HUGE.
IMHO,
Jeff

I apologize if I caused any offence Reb.....oops.I've never heard of him either.Quo's problem in the states was the record company was crap. They did a few tours of The United States of America and went down well live.
