Not worried about another one being released that wasn’t the point of the post just interested to know what songs they ran through if any?

I love the first Aquostic album. I really do. But the follow-up wasn't so good. Although That's A Fact and Hold You Back both did it for me.
But that's by the by. If there are any other tracks still in the can somewhere, I'd give them a chance all day long.
It's funny people wanting a full on acoustic album - as in properly stripped down. I thought I rather fancied that as well but having heard Francis doing that very thing recently, I'm not so sure now.

Some of the stuff on the second Aquostic album sounded distinctly like leftovers - or like kind of basic, unfinished versions.
I think the whole spin on this project was a bit over-egged, the whole 'underneath all the guitars there's these nice songs'...
Songs yes, but a lot of them are very basic songs and it feels like their magic was taken away by stripping them back - sort of like oh, so that's what they look like with no clothes on - not so great. Not enough interesting musicality to prop them up when it's just guitars strumming a very basic structure and a few unessential embellishments.
I'd have preferred to hear other artists' interpretations of them as 'songs', that would have been more of a test of their 'song-ness' to me Even then, i'd not have been massively interested though.
Think at the end of the day they were written a very particular way and nowt else is really good enough IMO.

“A year” maybe would have been good but maybe a bit slow and long for this particular project ??

Lets be honest both albums were shite, they could/shouldve been so much better. My son & me saw Francis on his tour & it was brilliant we both said this is how Aquostic (even the name was shite!) should have sounded, also the accordion player should be put in the stocks & forever be pelted with shit

As Quo have never been 'shy' of cashing in on an initial success, Aquostic 2 was an anti climax looking back, there were a few 'moments' of enjoyment, but the reviously 'unreleased' new tracks were generally poor, and the 'interpretations' of 'Roll Over Lay Down' and worse still 'Dear John' were shockingly bad, the first 'Aquostic' album I generally enjoyed On a similar, but separate note, the 'mini CDs' Francis offered during the 'Tunes and Chat' Tour were great, a full album of that would be great..who knows what his 'proposed' FR2025 campaign will bring?
