Fully agree on all the accordion comments. What an awful instrument, second only to bagpipes. The way it was trowelled all over everything just made it worse - the Paper Plane riff being the most insulting to the memory. "Stripped Bare" arrangements needing 16 people to do what used to be done by four. What on earth were they thinking? The only minuscule positive I can find is that Geraint was brought in to replace the original "accordion" parts, which were performed by Andy on his Bontempi on accordion setting. If that doesn't make you shudder, nothing will. Why did nobody, at any point, say no to this madness and bin at least 96% of the accordion?

Sorry, people. I was never a fan of the accordion (except for this one ) But I did think it worked very, very well on Aquostic. And if a faux sound on Andy's keys was considered, then it was a wise decision! As the demo for Wild Side Of Life clearly demonstrates! And don't always knock the accordion

As Quo have never been 'shy' of cashing in on an initial success, Aquostic 2 was an anti climax looking back, there were a few 'moments' of enjoyment, but the reviously 'unreleased' new tracks were generally poor, and the 'interpretations' of 'Roll Over Lay Down' and worse still 'Dear John' were shockingly bad, the first 'Aquostic' album I generally enjoyed On a similar, but separate note, the 'mini CDs' Francis offered during the 'Tunes and Chat' Tour were great, a full album of that would be great..who knows what his 'proposed' FR2025 campaign will bring? Strange how everyone likes different things; the Aquostic Roll Over Lay Down and Dear John are two of the highlights for me. Oh well, there ya go
