My only hope is that this opens the door a little wider for the possibility of a further reunion in 2017 - a real way to bring the curtain down, imo. Pity CQ didn't catch on to this accoustic lark years ago, then they could have wheel out the frantic four as Status Quo the rock band every so often, still its a chance now to properly separate the original band from the current band. and hopefully they'll wheel out the frantic four to meet the huge demand for Status Quo the Rock Band.

I guess this moment had to come at some stage.
It's been a great run, thanks for the music and great times Quo.

Anyone remember the guy who had heard of this a while back via his Iron Maiden tech roadie off of Lloyd ( Quo's tech roadie ) ? . If you are the guy reading this , what's the real story ?

Methimks it's another missed opportunity. Next year could have been the 50th anniversary of POMM, so a goodbye tour with that in mind would go down better...methinks...

No one should ever follow this band on an acoustic tour after this. I must admit that I am torn about seeing them on a final tour, if they do Belfast, it will be hard not to go. But do the decent thing and throw in a few ff gigs this year as part of the endings....... If you feel it's right for you go... For me I am happy with my decision in 2014 that for me they were finished.

Is it just me or is this just a hamfisted marketing ploy. They are leaving the door open for 'electric shows' in 2017 and beyond and will say it's not a tour but a number of specials.

It may be their final electric TOUR, it won't be their final GIG. This is what I would call the "Judas Priest Cop Out": they're getting too old to go on a massive tour each year, but will play gigs every now and again. The statement by Quo has so many loopholes that I fail to see why people are at all bothered. They may still play the one off electric gig, they will record stuff, some more aquotsick remains possible, special projects, solo stuff, ... the list is endless. Lighten up!

Charles, I hope you're right...interesting comparison with the "Judas Priest" copout, it does seem a bit like that
PF, a hamfisted marketing ploy hey ? Yea i've been wondering about that too..
I can live with them not touring again, but I would have hoped there would have at least been some more FF gigs...ending it this way just doesn;t seem right to me... hopefully there might be still FF projects after 2016 in the form of a record or whatever... little hope for that, I know, but...

I know what you mean Charles but I reckon they're pretty fair dinkum about shutting down what Quo are renowned for... The tours. To suggest they'll continue on acoustically is lame imo. Quo have built their name on a loud live band and they should finish it that way imo. To continue on acoustically is like a firework phizzzzz. I wonder if the door'll be open for Rick to gig with Alan and John?

Brief post from JC along with the press release on his FB page last night. Quo....The Last Ever Electric Tour Dates - sad to read this... But JCQ will keep on rocking... I love this comment from a fan on John's page. "This is why the FF should keep going - the pace is slower! Quo have been too fast on stage for too long. We want to shuffle not to thrash!" Oh, the irony of this for us as we get older. Though I'm not quite at the shuffling stage myself yet.
