We already talked a bit about this - earmusic is reissuing a lot of the Live Here Now stuff with new mixes. The Amsterdam 2010 concert is the first entry in the series and here's a teaser.

Being a sad old collector, I'll no doubt be buying these. But I'm not convinced they'll get much airtime. The originals didn't I actually went to that many Quo gigs between 2008 and about 2012 that listening to them all seemed pretty pointless. Apart from Westonbirt, which was the first full Quo gig/set to be officially released since the Apollo recording in 1976. Comparing this teaser to the original, I can't actually detect an awful lot of difference. I dare say there must be but I suspect, like many remasters, it's quite subtle. To be honest, I only notice the differences in remasters with albums that I've played a lot and know inside out. These Live Here Now issues don't come into that category. Do we know the motivation behind these archive releases? Or who is behind them? Vinyl would obviously be more collectable but when it comes to 'expense', Quo are usually at the front of the frugality queue

Mmm probably won’t worry about these copy and paste and the setlist around that time doesn’t interest me enough to purchase as already got a few live recordings which been issued with same sets around that time. If it had been in search of fourth chord, quid pro quo or bula quo maybe been interested.

Mention of vinyl there I see, which contradicts my original thinking. I take it all back Although this obviously adds more expense. I'm almost an OAP y'know Never mind the fuel allowance at Christmas. What about a vinyl allowance for us old codgers? Actually, what am I saying? I'll just spend the fuel allowance on the vinyl. I'm such a rebel

Is this only going to be for Live Here Now stuff? What happened to Hammersmith 1979? The tapes were baked and there was even a photo of it I think.
PLease don't fumble this Quo, lot of good shit that could come out here surely.

We can only hope that they find some older FF stuff of (at least) broadcast quality to release. I doubt I'll be buying the later stuff - already got loads of it. I just hope that if the early releases are as uninteresting as this and they don't sell enough, that it doesn't put the record company off releasing more interesting stuff. It'd be really good if we could get a list of the releases and the release schedule.

A complete 3 nights live Glasgow '76 would be a good choice! I can but dream. 🙄

Cheaper re-issues and completely zero interest. What happened to Hammersmith 1979? The tapes were baked and there was even a photo of it I think. Those tapes are in possession of Universal I think, and in that case we all know how much interest they have in bringing decent deluxe editions. The tapes could be digitalized only to archive them to prevent another burn in the warehouse and lost things, but that's it. I don't think that show will see the light of day. I mean, those were multitracks, will need money to pay the mixer, and I can't see Universal spending money on that. But that's strange. For the Live and Dangerous super deluxe, Universal mixed 5 or 6 unreleased shows, that's a lot of money (I assumed they didn't pay the mixer and was paid by somebody else) You can say "Well, Thin Lizzy do well in America". Black Sabbath too and in some "super deluxe" they put a MP3 bootleg show as the extra, and then, spend money in remixing a show from 73 or remix a complete album. So they seem to be a mixed bag.

So they seem to be a mixed bag. it's a part of the Universal catalogue, but it's not in their library. It was a part of all the stuff from Rossis archive that was taken and digitised. earMUSIC will only be doing post 00s Quo stuff, and any Don't Stop era things, as those are the only parts of the catalogue that Quo own aside from HT / Riffs as those are still Universals
