I was thinking about this tonight and wondered why we haven't got a band out there that makes new music and sounds exactly like Quo.
There are bands out there like Greta Van Fleet & Airbourne who sound like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC, and there are many more, but why no band that sounds like Quo?
Granted there are tribute bands, but they don't make new music, with the exception of Piledriver, but even they record cover versions, and the closest we've ever come to a new project sounding like Quo, was Ian Hill's solo album from a few years ago.
His album is fantastic and sounds like 70's Quo with a modern production, it's a shame he never made another album or put a band together to play the songs live, or maybe he has and I'm just unaware?

Hilly is a member of State of Quo and does play live, although that's wound down a bit, obviously, since the pandemic. They are excellent but they don't play Hilly's material, so I get your point. And I think they're playing their last gigs this year. But I agree; his album nailed various aspects of the Quo sound and is a terrific listen.
However, the market for a band that mimics Quo stylistically is probably very small. Bands like Predatür, Piledriver and Railroad (if they still exist), among others, have been around for a good while and probably have to pretty much self-finance any releases they do manage to bring out.
I think there are several bands out there but the lack of exposure except to those who know where to look probably means there will not be many more coming through.

I asked Chat GPT (AI) the following questions. Similar songs to Hold you Back, and similar bands to Quo. Nothing new suggested.

Funnily enough, I was always keen on getting back to the "old" Quo of the early-mid '70s

There's quite a few bands that sound pure Quo, but they all have a low profile
Predatur have three wonderful albums of original material. German band Piledriver have original albums plus covers . We did have Spider
I discovered German band Railroad last year, who have 2 original albums. A few great tunes in there..
Hercules are great and have been going years. They have several albums, some of the songs are very very good
Sound of Status have a good album, check out "I gotta go"!
Check out Dirtbound, they have released several singles in the last few years
I'm hoping Quo Connection will record 🍺

That last one is a belter. Sounds like Quo with some Dave Edmunds thrown in.👍

Try Ginger Wildheart and The Sinners. Their debut album is excellent, they have another in the can and may be releasing a live album soon too. They do a version of Dirty Water (as well as a version of Six Yeras Gone, a Georgia Satellites song).
Excellent album definitely in the Quo orbit.

I can't stand Ginger if I'm honest and only really liked 3 or 4 Wildhearts singles back in the day.

Really, give it a go, you may be surprised!

For me JCQ , now Quo connection are the new Quo. Would love to hear the album they are supposed to be recording and if there is any news on how that is progressing.
