What was the intended sleeve for this, is there a picture? The sleeve in the box set has an old 70's Phonogram sleeve which is the wrong sleeve for this release.

Wasn‘t the Ain‘t Complaining single sleeve planned for „Naughty Girl“ and later used..? It’s the famous Bruwell picture…

Another question: was the 7“ Version of „Dreaming“ ever released on CD?

Another question: was the 7“ Version of „Dreaming“ ever released on CD? It was but only in Germany (I think). It was a maxi-single which also contained the Wet Mix, plus Rockin' and Roll Over Lay Down live from the NEC. 👍

On all my CD-Versions of „Dreaming“ is only the Wet-Mix. The 7“ Edit is missing and I can’t find it on any compilation album because they used the album Mix…

I didn't make that very clear. Only the Wet Mix is on the CD I have, not the single version. That's only ever been on vinyl as far as I know. Maybe cassette as well, although I couldn't honestly say.

There were 3 separate CDs, all with grey-ish sleeves

On this CDs? Because I have those (in my parent house). Been decades since I don't hear them, but knowing that, now I want those back.

Even the vol. 1 has the same track list as another Spectrum compilation "Rockin' On" which I have too. Except Rockin' On only have just Rockin' On (instead of CRWM/RO), Over The Edge is the N.E.C. version and The Wanderer is from the LAQ Roadhouse Medley (which has the intro with the mexican hat). All the versions from the Vol. 1 are the studio versions.

I think most Quo compilations, apart from the early ones like 12 Gold Bars and more official releases like Pictures are put together pretty haphazardly. There are dozens, maybe even hundreds out there. You come across the occasional one that has the odd gem on it, but these are few and far between. I came across the 2016 release, Whatever You Want The Essential Status Quo just through browsing in HMV in the Trafford Centre before Christmas and was astonished to see that it had a CD version of the Milton Keynes Medley. I grabbed it immediately Of course, that track was released again not long after but it did take me by surprise. It pays to actually look sometimes.
