These young Irish guys, The Strypes, kept the flame lit for a few years before disbanding in 2018. Elton John and Paul Weller were included in their admirers.

This thread is a measure of what an ageing fanbase we are!!! I love the darkness but they've been going 20 odd years! I will give Laura Cox a listen, although a quick Google tells me she came to prominence in 2008 Can't think of anyone new. Tom keifer, slash, quireboys, thunder, acdc, maiden, ginger wildheart, black crowed, plenty of the old guard still out there. Although what do we mean by rock n roll? Have discovered a great new artist here, a very dark, beautiful, English take on delta blues thecurseofkkhammond.com/ |

Will give them a listen. I'm just trying to throw some tunes out there that are not from classic rock bands but singers/groups etc, from the millennium on, who play 'rock 'n' roll. Even Lemmy used to say '...we play rock 'n' roll, so I suppose it's everyone's interpretation of what rock 'n' roll is...isn't it?.' |

Giuda are another young Italian band from Rome who like their rock 'n' roll retro style. Based on the video, not sure whether their footballers playing music or musicians playing football, but a good groove nonetheless.
