I do like the track, and it gets a good airing the week before Christmas when putting up the tree and really starting to get in the festive mood. But more than happy with the CD single I have. I'm not the completist that I was when younger, the "b-sides" don't tempt me, so need to purchase another copy.

I never get the original vinyl/CD single, I only have the reproduction of the 2000s single box. Would it be available to buy in amazon? Doesn't seem to be on Amazon, unless it's on Amazon.de. I get the impression it's a German only release. Anyway, I've ordered mine. Both formats. More money than sense, I tell you  It's a bl00dy awful song  |

If Quo had released 'It's Christmas Time' in say 1974 rather than 2008, would it now be as big and well known as Slade's 'Merry Christmas Everybody', released in 1973?

If Quo had released 'It's Christmas Time' in say 1974 rather than 2008, would it now be as big and well known as Slade's 'Merry Christmas Everybody', released in 1973? I certainly think it would be more well known. But I doubt it would rival Slade or Wizzard or Greg Lake, for example. And, even in 1974, obsessed as I was, I would not have liked the song any more than I do now. Which is not at all. See what I did there? |
