My hideous green vinyl pitched up earlier in the week. The CD is apparently on its way. I didn't appreciate the single was 10" as opposed to the usual 7" job. It looked like an LP when it arrived all packaged up. I was briefly excited And into the collection it goes, never to see a turntable. I've already got the Quo-e-oke mix. It came with the original CD single back in 2008. If it's the same one anyway.

I've got the CD single but haven't opened the cellophane yet. Gotta admit that it looks pretty beautiful.

If Quo had released 'It's Christmas Time' in say 1974 rather than 2008, would it now be as big and well known as Slade's 'Merry Christmas Everybody', released in 1973? In a nutshell, 100% Yes, it's a great Christmas track (unlike the traditional Christmas fodder through the decades from so called 'established' Artist's) but it was released probably 20-30 years too late...a real shame, the single buying era was well gone by Quo's Christmas release

On a cheerier note, my CD copy arrived from Amazon yesterday, the day after it was ordered...first CD single I've bought in years, still can't fathom out why the hell it never gets played on the Radio, far better than the usual crap...I even emailed Radio 2 saying as much, in the highly unlikely event I get a reply, I'll let you know their 'thoughts'

Their first covers album when that sort of thing peaked about 5 years before with Tom Jones; their first 12" single 5 years after everyone else on the planet; a physical Christmas single at least 25 years too late. Being a Quo fan has quite often had me hiding behind the sofa

Yeah. Like “ Again and Again “ released in a shitty plain white sleeve ! I was so gutted after RAOTW in a nice Pic Sleeve 😂 The one thing I remember them really getting right was the ROLD EP in 75. Lovely pic sleeve and first EP to top 10 since Beatles I think.

I could have sworn Reload was about 1991/92. We had the cassette in the car. Memory all over the place I stand corrected. I must be thinking about some other covers album because I remember thinking that Don't Stop seemed a few years out of step. Or maybe I just do them a disservice 👍
