On 26th Sept 2021 we said goodbye to the mighty Alan Lancaster. I always liked this one.

The bravery and sheer bloody minded courage Alan showed to do those two reunion tours, especially the second one was phenomenal. One of the rare breed of rockstars who never forgot what he owed his fans.

I had absolutely no interest in playing the bass until I saw Alan Lancaster of Status Quo.

For those that can never pick the bass out of a song (I know there are a few!), this highlights Alan's great bass work and how it was a crucial aspect of the classic Quo sound.

I think of Alan most days. Not sure why, but he has made an indelible mark on my life, even more so than the others.

The 4 of them created pure Quo chemistry but I always felt Alan was the heart of the band. He wrote some of their best ‘storyline’ lyrics such as Broken Man, and Who Asked You. I just love those type of Quo songs along with his input into the mighty QUO album. On interviews with the band he came across as insightful without the need to act like a dick. I met him a couple of times after Party Boys, and Bombers gigs and though I felt a bit nervous to talk to him he was very friendly and down to earth and gave his time to talk to fans. Always respect the fella.

Always respect the fella. At the reunion meet and greet in Glasgow he stayed out the longest, and had to be dragged away. He was just enjoying chewing the fat with fans. I said to him how great it was seeing him back, he just said a cheery, 'Aw, cheers mate', and we managed a few mins talking about how this might last, and there might be some new music.
