Have any of you watched this on Disney +?
I have never been a huge fan of "The Beatles" but I thoroughly enjoyed this new documentary. Watching them jam, the construction of Get Back and of-course the epic rooftop concert.
I've since bought myself the Let It Be (Super Deluxe) vinyl set and become fairly obsessed with the album

I actually caught a small part of it the other night and thought to myself I need to catch up with this properly.
It was basically a scene in the studio with Paul trying to construct something that eventually (I think) became Get Back and moaning "Lennon is late again". George is trying to play along and Ringo is sort of hanging about.
I will watch it all I think because I am a bit of a Beatles fan. I grabbed a box set of their albums on CD for Christmas a few years back to get properly into them. There's also DVD's with each one that I've never watched.
Incidentally, as an aside, I did watch Sir Paul live at the Cavern Club on BBC the other week. It was from 2018 or thereabouts. And it was excellent. I'd loved to have been there. He's 80 now and played and sang like he was at least 30 years younger.
I suspect Francis may be from the same physical mould.

I've seen Ep.1; yet to get the time to have a good run at the other 2, but it's on the list! It's really great stuff [so far!] I have all their albums [incl. the 'Let it Be - Naked' one] so I'm well sold on their wonderfulness [The Stones?? Pah, a mere under-rehearsed bar band! ] Feckin' brill watching PMcC and JL constructing tunes - great to see GH introducing 'I me mine' too, having come up with it the night before! Class stuff all round, imho!

Paul was a proper rocker from the start, even if he was polite (mostly) and wrote Michelle.

Like Muhammad Ali writers and critics try to find reasons why they weren't but they were, are and always will be the greatest.

My step-daughter has no time for Sir Paul but she's 30. She doesn't get it because she wasn't there. She just focusses on things like The Frog Chorus or Ebony And Ivory.
I've tried to explain that he is effectively, to me, the Beethoven or Mozart of our lifetime. Whether I like the material or not.
Of course there's some nonsense in his repertoire over the decades but if we think strictly of The Beatles, what they achieved in terms of songwriting and musical progress over a very short period was astonishing. From Please Please Me to Get Back, the journey broke every rule. And Sir George Martin also has to take a bow for much of that.
You don't have to like The Beatles but you cannot ignore their influence. Only Elvis's Heartbreak Hotel comes close.

Just loving watching them having so much fun (most of the time) - and most of that fun is in the playing of the music. So many snippets of older songs and covers brought out the bag - SO MANY - just for the fun of it, and the joy of playing. Proper band! Not suprised they were so big!! Their sense of humour is off the scale!

We don't have Disney but I hope to catch up with this one day (preferably when I have 8 hours to spare watching telly). I can wait. I still have the Bubble Gum cards.

It's due for release on DVD next year, from what I've heard, and will be longer than the Disney + version. The original Let It Be movie is also being cleaned up currently, more than likely to be a bonus disc in the DVD package. I hope they release the Rooftop Concert as a standalone without the comments from the bystanders on the street.

Just finished this today - yep, I'm really hoping too that 'they' FINALLY release the Rooftop gig/songs uninterrupted and complete in some form [preferably Video and Audio] Surely it's not too much to ask at this stage? A no-brainer if ever there was one?!

I was a big fan of the early Beatles but had moved on a bit by this phase of their career. But they were always good.
