Funnily enough, this interview with Francis was uploaded today - don't know how old it is - but a good one, much more about the music, and a lot about the early days/influences:
Edit: it's from "Under The Influence" era.

Born to Be Wild sounds weird as a shuffle. And Francis sounds as convincing singing the lyrics as on I Fought the Law, i.e. not at all. I can hear Alan sing those songs. They require a macho stance! Odd choices... and the same goes for quite a lot of other songs which seem at odds with Quo's image, certainly post 1986. To the point that Centerfold comes across almost as a parody of the original instead of a cover. Strange album.
Positive: I like Andy's organ playing. The band gets some live energy going in many songs (but oddly not on Don't Bring Me Down, which had more power in the ELO original even if the drums were programmed!). While it's not a patch on the 70s live versions, the remake of Junior's Wailing does sound more organized than the MKGS recording and it's good to have a proper version with Rick singing it.
