I don't remember it being the "Sounds" single of the week. Mind you it was more than 44 years ago now. Having said that, I'm often surprised at what I remember! "Primitive and simplistic" seems a very apt description for this one. It's just about as simplistic as Quo ever got. Especially bearing in mind the previous single had been Mystery Song. Just For The Record peeping out at the bottom there? Trying to get noticed

A shame it snuck into the set from a medley. The opening half minute or so is great, sadly never played. They missed a trick there

Absolutely love Quo's version of it, one of my very favourites, always found it strange that many fans put it down, I could never tire of hearing it. This is a wee tribute I did of it, tried to replicate all the guitar parts as close as possible (and there are a few) so it's WSOL as per Quo's version and you can add your own vocal...

For a time though The Wanderer was in the live-set twice, both as a separate song and as a part of the Anniversary Waltz

And if so, did they ever play it 3 times during the same gig?

There seems to be the odd show in 1992, during the Rock 'til You Drop tour, were they had dropped the Medley during Roadhouse... for example the January 92 show in Gothenburg

Still amazed that in less than a year they went from the heights of recording and releasing Rain and Mystery Song as singles to releasing a version of a 1950s country song. What were they thinking of? Beginning of the end I think!

This is you? I have literally played this video 100 times, yesterday being the most recent. You did a great job with it.

Never been keen on it. The beginning of the end, and a signpost to the future in more than one respect if the rumours about how many of the Frantic Four actually play on it are to be believed...
