Going to hunt down what there is of the 13th May gig. So far I've only seen reels for from Roadhouse Blues onwards, but I'll need to double check. Quoincidence how do you have access to all this stuff? Are you involved with the band somehow? Hope I'm not being nosey,I'm just jealous I help out with the Universal releases and tracklistings, so I need to know what there is There are about 20-30 live gigs that either havent been released or have been released, just not in full... possibly more as the band(?) decided to capture the Video Screen footage from some gigs in the mid 90s like the Wembley Arena 1996 concerts.

I think you've got my dream job If you can reply, about how many of those 20 - 30 gigs have John on drums? There's those 4 from march '75 and the other two nights from glasgow '76, any others? I understand if you can't say.

A gig from the 1981 tour perhaps?

I found this on the old YT, BFM Wembley 74 overdubbed with Glasgow 76. OK it's not authentic but it's a very good match of visual and sound and improves upon the poor audio from the original 74 clip. J Here's the Old Grey Whistle Test broadcast of Big Fat Mama from the Wembley gig. Just goes to show that the audio was once better than it is now, due to poor management God, I haven't seen that Whistle Test stuff in eons!! Wonderful to see again. My memory might be playing tricks but I'm sure I went to see that Empire Pool film (a very short film!) as the warm-up to Rory Gallagher's Irish Tour film. Quo were the sort of b-movie for it. I loved Rory but Quo were the reason I went along. If my memory IS playing tricks, I'll go lie down. Nurse!

A long time ago I read in a Shorts column that the OGWT would be featuring Status Quo playing Gerdundula. The paper concerned was in the past (I got hold of a lot of older music papers.)
Whenever I got a chance I asked, when was that broadcast, and if it wasn't, where is it now? I even got to ask the producer at one point (on the phone, I cannot for the life of me remember why I was talking to him, I'm not normally a denizen of BBC TV) but he'd never heard of it.
So I deduced it must have been a misprint or a mistake, or they'd filmed it but binned it.
Does that ring any bells?

Can't say I've ever heard about that, sorry. And if it was to exist anywhere, it would be the BBC archives... It was possibly scrapped and the tape was wiped

I used to watch "The Old Grey Whistle Test" religiously and Quo never performed Gerdundula on it. In fact, they never performed on the programme at all as far as I can recall. We only ever got live snippets like the Empire Pool or Marquee clips. The Marquee footage of (I think) Don't Waste My Time was on a show that featured Golden Earring in the studio and I remember to this day Bob Harris sort of slagging them off in his own quiet way; not something he normally did. After Earring had played whatever it was ( Candy's Going Bad rings a bell) he said something like " hmm, not for me; right, from that to an excellent band...." and went on to introduce the Quo footage. It's all a relatively clear memory because I had tickets to go see Quo soon after - my very first gig - and was pretty excited about it. Sorry, taking a nostalgic trip there. Or some kind of trip anyway. I sound like some sort of old codger Actually, I am. Most of us probably are

Wow that Whistle test clip brings it all back to me, sweat falling like rain, deaf for days and the band enjoying themselves.
