when did he say that calling it Anti Quo? It was a couple of years ago on Aussie TV, he called Francis "the anti-Quoist". And he’s not wrong Cheers

All good PR stuff. The band all together laughing , having a good time, contributing equally etc. The message seemed to be we are a band and not just one fella representing Quo and it's a great album as a consequence of all that. Only thing that raised my eyebrow contrary to that approach was Ritchie saying he was told he would be lead vocal on one track. Surprised that got through the PR ! Minor thing I know, as ultimately the album will be judged on the strength of the songs themselves. I haven't heard them all, so will reserve judgement until such time as I have. Maybe I am on lead vocals on one track would have oiled the PR machine even more so. Leon saying it was a Rock album made me smile as well ( no emoji) , really! isn't that's what Quo do. Ok I haven't really done there studio stuff since 1982, so maybe not? I think Leon was referring to it being a rock album as he mentioned the only previous recordings he's been part of were the Aquostic albums.

I can’t see why AL would call FR the anti Quo, other than possibly sour grapes maybe? They have always been and still are unmistakable in their sound.

Certainly the clips, to me, sound better than the frankly overrated QPQ.

No,definitely no reason to have sour grapes Cheers He and Rossi couldn’t work together, Rossi left, the record company said no Rossi then no Quo, Rossi came back AL had to go. Yes AL had good reason to be bitter, it doesn’t make him right though. Anyway back on topic, the new album does sound like it’s going to be good.

Also like I said they still sound unmistakable in my opinion. So back on topic we won’t really know till we have all heard it in full. Not like you need to hear it though your mind is made up.

Whatever Rossi sings on it’ll sound like Quo then with that thinking. There has been dubious releases under the Quo name since 86 which sound nothing like the classic Quo sound Like I said previously I’ve heard enough of it to know if I like it or not. Cheers

Do you guys do this old Vs new stuff on every thread ?? 😂😂😂 Most positive threads about the band today, end up getting hijacked, so yeh. Take this thread for example, “Quo talk about the new album here”

It’s a discussion about the new album, there’s always differing views that’s what makes it a discussion.Anything any band records will always be judged on what came before it’s just the way it is Cheers

Never liked anything after their 4th album. A lot more examples other than Slade.
