WARNING !!! Whisper this slowly as you read it !!! . R.A.J. will be auditioning for a guitarist / singer / song writer on a new Tv reality series . Based on the same concept as the INXS show , in which they eventually found a replacement for Michael Hutchence , and adding the finer elements of the Voice and X factor , contestants will be tasked with various obstacles to overcome in order to tri- front a premium rock band . Rumoured to assist in the judging is Nicholas Parsons , whose radio show " Just A Minute " is thought to be used in the case of the judges being split / or the public voting system being very close , in which case the contestants would be required to talk about recording , tours , music etc for a minute without repeating themselves . Contestants are ideally male , right handed , hirsute, have a penchant for blue denim / stratos ...either / or , the ability to look lost / dazed in band photos without the use of hallucinogenic drugs , a hatred of sensible black / brown brogue type shoes paired with visible white sport socks , understand how a winning formula works and stick to it , dislike black jeans , understand that backstage facilities may not be like home but at least they're not the building site portaloo's ( khazi ) , realise an audience going bananas over what you are producing on stage doesn't make them wankers . Finally and most importantly , your first name must begin with an 'A' , in order for the band's new name to work , R A J A , a majestically Royal feel , which is hoped to propel them worldwide especially in India .

Totally agree , Francis must have some kind of control paranoia , why not do the jig ? it's integral to the song . 'Kin l , it would have lifted the roof off at " ' ammersmiff " . He's agreed to do the gigs , put past differences behind him (and the others too ) , but didn't want to really push the boat out , even with Alan prompting him in their last ever appearance in Dublin . Do a show to a certain level and no more , stay in the comfort zone , leave them wanting more ...... Alan had a feel for the crowd and he added great character when he stepped up to the mike. You cannot buy what he delivered to Quo. A true showman. Thanks Gaz for not saying Alan has great stage presence ! 🇳🇿🇦🇺

You could also add that Alan and all of his family were extremely approachable , willing to talk Quo , polite , even if the questions were monotonous to them . John and Gillie were also around the venues etc , and probably the same as the Lancaster's , but I didn't directly speak to them . Didn't see Rick , and Francis as we all know , clears off straight away after the gig .

To me, it's more than disinterest or thoughtlessness on Rossi's part. He must have been the one and only person that didn't want the jig at those gigs. And he knew that. It was, IMO, a conscious and quite deliberate middle finger to the FF and their fans. Won't be releasing his solo album , containing the epic " Running Wild " , in April, because Rick has his due out then as well !
Reminds me of the Beatles and Stones record releases , which apparently Mick said they would hold off from putting theirs out if the Beatles had one around the same time .
Anyone in the know about Rick's album ?

Funnily enough that is what i was asking myself in whenever it was when "Shes got the look" came out. Quo wanted to be more modern, there were lots of ways to do it, but they went backwards. Just been watching the Genesis documentary. Play the Shakey track alongside Phil Collins' "That's all". One or two shared tropes. Both good songs. I like the Phil one better, because he is a better singer (IMHE). Akky 2: I can see myself, in a year or two, doing just enough downloads from the two albums to get the half dozen versions I like and making up my own CD from them. Not sure if it will make 40 mins, maybe 20 mins. I could make a cassette, but our really good player/recorder hasn't been used for so long the poor thing has seized up solid. I use an old ghetto blaster in my study. The horror that is ROLD should be enough to keep the album out of my mitts. It's not just the horrid sound, it's the sloppy singing, I think he thinks it's meant to sound like that. It was a great, enormous, funny, varied, ironical song full of energy, and he's just gone totally bored with it. I guess they only included it because it's a "live classic" and based on a fine old urban folk song. Holy Moly Pink Floyd are on TV doing Careful With That Axe. Now, THERE is a track which is not going to suffer an acoustic remake in a hurry ... May I suggest ( humorously ) that you edit your post , re " I use an old ghetto blaster in my study " . I believe the less fortunate on here will liken you to Penelope Keith !

Remember when the Beatles brought out the Anthology series - all the early demos and studio recordings . Listening to those snippets by Status H2O , makes me think they've come full circle , releasing demos . Some of those snippets sound like they are out takes from Rick and Francis's appearance on the Steve Wright show ( the one on the BBC Cd ) .

Finally, Francis can record and play the music he has always desired under the Quo name. The world awaits his epic version of " Running Wild " , by himself or under the Quo banner ( imagine the reaction to that ) .

Others might remember back to the Quo board where this subject was often discussed . " Those " in the know used to write that the figure represented all vinyl , video , cd , DVD , etc ......sales combined . Alan was stating years ago the figures were not right , hence the topic generated the usual spats . I think the first time I remember hearing Rick and Francis talk about numbers was on a Capital radio Chris Tarrant special at night , the one with them both admitting to signing blank cheque books , the new manager looking into property bought in their name , missing money , millions of it apparently , ........showbiz / music bollocks ?? ...will we / they ever know ?? ....this must be coming on thirty years ago now ....would you let missing millions remain unsolved for so long ......if it was true , Francis would have a few pennies towards the Uni funds , and Rick will be able to top up his State and private pension !

band members for my new venture NOQUOSTIC.I need An accordion player A competent whistler A washboard player A lead and and a rhythm spoonist Can I sheepishly put my name forward for the position of finger clicker , without blowing my own trumpet , that's me on Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen , I asked not to be included on the album sleeve roll call of musicians ! . If your struggling I can also do the hand under the armpit ( both sides ) fart noise * , might I add modestly as well , that I can click my fingers and make fart sounds at the same time , in time to most tunes - I do a wicked " I saw a mouse ...where ...there on the stair .... Have you considered an alphabet burper to your ensemble ? * should my services be required I would need a good weeks notice as I find a shaven armpit a truer sound .

Thanks for the link Davec . Strange the band have never seen a royalty cheque ? Was this the crux of the matter when Alan and then John had to sue for monies owing from recordings and greatest hits packages released after their departures ? Echoing previous posts , it is refreshing and believable to listen to Alan , no music / showbiz bollocks , just plain talking .Wish we could gave heard more , and what he believes the future holds for himself as a musician .

I asked Rhino if he was Swisscheese at the convention last year and he flatly denied it. Did / do you believe him ? So maybe it's the Rev Parfait after all, and he's obviously had other priorities to contend with. I couldn't see Rick reading let alone writing anything to do with this board . Possibly in conjunction with A.N.Other , but from very much afar ( make sense ? ) It would match his sense of humour after all! Nah , surely his sense of humour is more conventional, not public schoolboy word play joviality .
