Saw them 4 shows on that tour - jeez man how fast is everything played, when yer there you dont realise but urrgh its just too fast, back in those days we were like - few beers watch Quo go mad for an hour n a half listening back it wasnt the best i was probably 60-70 shows in by then & it was a night out with a few beers, it was Quo so we went cos its what we`d always done, the live shows in the `90`s were good from what i remember people still jumped around at the front but then it changed - `can you sit down please my mam cant see` - it was never the same, - they still play too fast to this day imo

What an absolutely shite review of HT that is mind - just where do Classic Rock get these reviewers from? HT was & still is a massive return to the band i loved 5/10 is shocking - lazy journalism from a guy who`s probably only ever heard a compilation album at best.

Some glaring omissions & some absolutely bizarre selections on disc 2 & re doin old songs especially RAOTW(we dont & the world dont need another version of this) all those b sides yet none of these Shine On Heavy Traffic Creeping Up On You Oriental All That Counts Is Love Seems like yet another compilation thrown together with zero thought about content, Ive got the 3 cd version but tbh itsyet another cd i`l file away in the collection probably never to be played again

I loved The Satellites, saw them 12 times back in the day many times hanging out with the band - great great times, i pre ordered this set last year on vinyl & cd pre orders got your name on the credits also a couple of extra bits included - original gig flyer signed by Mauro Magellan (drummer) & an exclusive print by Rob Fletcher, all in all a very cool package, Ive got loads of great bootlegs from the `80`s & `90`s - icluding 2 superb shows from The Ritz in NY - they really were a fantastic live band. The line up these days only has Rick Richards as an original member & just play small shows now n again but still play the songs well. Dan Baird had a great run as a solo artist & with his Homemade Sin band with Warner Hodges but hes pretty much retired now. Sounds great, sincity - I only managed to see them once, Dublin late ‘89 on the “..Salvation…” album tour. They were a feckin’ great & proper live band. (Btw I don’t suppose a boot of that Dublin gig exists, you know?) 🤘 If there is one i aint come across it, i`l ask a guy who will know

I mean, in the original announcement post about this tour it literally said John was retiring. Why are they back peddling all of a sudden. There was a "thread" on facebook before were someone had posted a screenshot of said announcement stating that John was retiring, and the whole post seems to have been removed now... I wonder why Edit: "As many of you already know, JCQ will be playing their Farewell Tour this year to mark John’s retirement" - first line on the original facebook post for the tour. People have been wishing him well and it's a "well deserved retirement" since February, and they've only now decided to clear it up and say he is in fact "NOT" retiring. Hes not gonna do JCQ no more - not too difficult to understand really.

I saw them in Newcastle around `76-77ish then saw Alex at Sunderland not too long before he died i seem to recall, i also saw them when they toured with Max Maxwell on vocals who it has to be said did a pretty good job all things considered. SAHB were a great band & i still play their stuff regularly.

Just got back from a great 3 days in Liverpool what an epic show, absolutely beyond belief how they still perform to this level. Seen them 3 times & this was the best of the lot.
