The only circumstance i could imagine would be if Rossi contributed to the PLC tracks, thus completing the circle.

Quo have backed themselves into a very small corner over the years with the whole dum-de-dum, shuffle format. There's only so many variations you can write in that vein without repeating yourself, especially over nearly 50 years. It's very limited, unless you've only released 10 or so albums in that time.
But they've boxed themselves into a catch-22 situation - they feel they have to stick to their trademark rhythm, they have to sound like Quo to people.
Occasionally, they jump out of there, and that can often be their best work, when they do something completely different they've not done before.
OR....the stars are aligned and they have a moment of inspiration, such as "Cut Me Some Slack", which sticks to the format, but is also inspired and retains the energy and dynamicism of the original template.
This one is just a wee bit on the pedestrian side to my ears.

OT, i have a bath twice a week these days. Whether it's a big bath, a small bath, a quick bath, or a long bath, it's a bath.
What was this thread about again?

2nd verse When she wakes in the morning and her figure tells no lies My eyesight is broken when the light shines on her tights But I love her and I need that woman so Oh how can I tell you what I'd do if she should go Could be wrong, but always heard it as "thighs", and not "tights" !

The thing is that as an artist you will always get critisism from people and not everone is going to have positive critisism. Some will like what he does, some won't. it's all in how things are said I suppose. Let's take Rhino for instance. I personally don't think most of his singing works very well for Quo 'cos I don't think he has a very good singing voice and I just don't like it. (However as a side not i must say that on Backbone the little bit he does on Better take care doesn't sound all that bad to me). But saying I don't like his voice is not meant as an insult. It's just a personal feeling and opinion I have. I have nothing against the man itself and I have nothing against his bass playing. I don't judge him as a person because that has nothing to do with his singing. On the latest album I personally think his bass playing is quite good at times, for instance in Cut me some slack. Great post, I must say. I respect your opinion. I respect the other fellow's opinion. I'm just asking them to explain why they say what they say, because I don't share the same opinion. Especially when it comes to "pedantic bass lines". I can't get that. So, some enlightenment would be nice. I get and understand all of the rest you say on your post. Everyone can say "I like this, because..."/"I don't like this, because...". Even "I like this."/"I don't like this.". It's fine, it's opinion. But here is different. The user is not saying as an opinion (but, do note, without any justification to back up their "fact"). I am just curious as to why the bass lines are being characterized as pedantic. Could it be the poster was using "pedantic" to characterise a boring or dull type of person? So he finds Rhino's bass playing boring in effect?

Thanks for posting this. Any idea why (the original version of) What You're Proposing was included in this version? I can only assume it was a very big hit in Spain?
Sounds godawful sandwiched in there with the later recordings.

Don't boot me off the board, but my journey began aged 8 in 1983 seeing them perform "Marguerita Time", and i bought into the whole cheeky chappie routine of Rossi & Parfitt from then on.
Bought my first piece of vinyl "Going Down Town Tonight" the year after. Nicked a copy of the "She Don't Fool Me" 7" out my cousin's room (he was much more into Motorhead so i figured he wouldn't miss it), then got "12 Gold Bars Vol 1 + 2" for Xmas '84.
After that it was a bit all over the place, buying up random albums, and copying tapes from the local library (Piledriver was one). Had a Pye compilation on tape too, which was obviously so dated and sounded a bit weird to my young ears.
When the ITAN album came out, it was a disappointment even to my 11 year old ears. "Ain't Complaining" sounded much better...was just hitting puberty and there seemed to be a lot of love songs on it which reflected my confused state of mind pretty well! Still love the album.
But inbetween all that, loved the FF stuff the most for its earthiness.
I even dressed up in a wig with a homemade wooden green/white Tele and mimed to the GDTT single infront of my class at primary school. The teacher wasn't impressed as i'd promised a puppet show! How very Spinal Tap!

Looking forward to this. I never owned a video player when i was 15, so always had to watch it at friends house. They weren't so keen.
Cheers!
