Brilliant story Nino, you really conveyed the excitement of going to that first concert! I'm so glad you got into them and your Dad got back into them and was able to witness the reunion concerts. By the way, what were the crowd chanting at the end of the clip? They're shouting We want more - Zu-ga-be.

Nino, I've just read your fantastic story again. I can absolutely understand your excitement about seeing Quo on telly for the very first time and then going to your very first gig a few weeks later and how nervous you must have felt. That's how I still feel before each and every Quo gig, even today. I can hardly eat or concentrate on things all day long. It must be great to be able to share the same band with your dad and to see how enthusiastic you both feel about Quo. My dad used to come to gigs with me when I was still too young to be allowed into the venue on my own. Quo were not my first gig ever, nor my second or my third, but I'm sure it was some kind of revelation when I got to see them play live for the first time. And my dad never ridiculed the bands I saw, only commented on how loud they were. I'm sure he must have been on edge half the time when he saw all those blokes in their gear in the audience, all older than me, beer in hands, and me among the crowd going mental. I stopped seeing Quo (and many other bands) at the beginning of the 80s, saw them one last time with Pete Kircher. There were other things, other people that had become more important in my life. So I missed out on the EOTR, Jeff Rich's Quo , and all the strange records they produced in the 90s. I only got back into them in 2000. Mind you, I never stopped listening to their older output all those years. And it's the same with me here, Nino, after all those years I'm still so very excited, standing there near the front and waiting for Quo to come on stage. My temperature rises, my heart beats faster and faster, and when the drone sets in, I can hardly breathe. And then when they stroll on, everything falls off me, and I'm just happy and all smiles and rock the night away, singing all the words to the songs they play. Mad, I know, but that's just how it is. rock
