Would give it a listen on you tube, then decide. Wouldn't call it Status Quo. Like Slade 2, liked the songs but it didn't sound like Slade by a long shot.

Oh, catlady... my first Quo gig? I was a16 year old and walked into the room Quo playing Down Down on the tv and I signed up as a Quo fan and still am. ROLD on the radio and the deal was done. Quo played in Canberra.twice on that same day... lights dimmed... stunned with the loudness of Juniors Wailing and the rest that followed .. no need to tell you the rest of the story as Quo just rocked very loud ecstatic.

I'll listen to the new one, assuming it's not more Aquostic crap, but if Rhino writes more of the songs it'll be drek. Come to think of it, it's hard to see how it won't be drek.

Now Ricks is has gone I won't buy anything of Status Quo..I haven't bought the DVD or cd of the Live concert..there's something to be said for Ricks playing & guitar sound & his voice..I certainly won't waste money on the deluxe box sets..come to think of it I don't even listen to them anymore..It's all Noel Gallagher these days.

Why the dig at Rhino? If anything he was the one out of all of them (Rick included) writing the heavier more up tempo songs in recent years

Too young to had see them in the 70's . But, that's downer too. I bet they are two different bands. With Rick in the band, they were great live band. With Alan & John in the band & from what I've seen on clips, they were a better LIVE band hands down. I mean heads down, no nonsense, mindless boogie.

Not all heavier songs are good ones either. But I do see your point
