No one seems to be happy with this announcement... all the top comments on the Quo facebook page post are either telling Rossi to call the band something else or upset that theyre continuing with the Aquostic shite

Hammersmith with stools on stage...the world has gone mad. indeed. the hammy belongs (belonged) to the FRANTIC FOUR.
Doing Hammy with this pish, is another boot in the balls to fans and Rick, shame on any so called quo fan who goes.

Stated Quo should play The Distillers for the FF fans on the Night that The Rossi's Aquostic Band play Hammersmith.

From the email, included a quote from Rossi....FFS 😬😡
These shows will be fully acoustic and feature additional musicians, including female backing vocalists. This 2017 Winter Tour will be the second such set of dates to take place without guitarist Rick Parfitt, whose tragic death at the end of last year shocked and saddened Quo and their fans, but left the band newly motivated to perform and honour these songs to a fan base that remains equally enthused. Francis Rossi said, "Things are not the same, nor should they be, but the show goes on because band and fans alike still love this amazing music."

If Ritchie Blackmore can put a "band" together of guys he's only just met and NEVER played with before and call it Rainbow and sell out outdoor gigs last year and an arena tour this year then Quo will have no difficulty getting an audience. Blackmore playing electric after all those years was Always going to be exciting, shame he left it so late (RIP Ronnie.) Almost bought a ticket but decided against it and although the footage I saw was strong, I'm still glad I didn't go. Apparently he found he didn't need to play Purple, the audience loved the Rainbow ones enough, so he might do another tour. I do think the novelty will wear off quickly though. Besides Ritchie is suffering from arthritis, so he isn't going to milk this endlessly.

I doubt Ritchie would have played with Ronnie again even if he had survived his stomach cancer, he certainly never called him during his illness, he rarely speaks to anyone direct, "his people" call but only when he wants something. Against my better judgement I went to see him play last year with his session guys and they were very competent but had absolutely zero feel for the songs as they'd only just learned them. He's doing arenas this year and no doubt like the present Quo will do well but he's not the player he was, that was clear. It's a shame he never knew what he wanted out of his career and still doesn't.

I don't know if other people have already read this quote I just saw online - Francis talking about the newly announced winter aquostic tour and Rick not being there-
Francis Rossi said: “Things are not the same, nor should they be, but the show goes on because band and fans alike still love this amazing music.”

So Manchester is Standing.....? Can't really see the logic in that, You couldn't stand for the Electric Shows they were seated, Yet you can stand for the Aquostic ones, Are there going to be little Mayflower Poles that we can all dance around..?

I think you might have something there noizeboyz, with the Mayflower poles. Maybe they are looking for crowd participation in a aquostic version of the bands cover of Safety Dance by Men Without Hats, the first single from AQUOSTIC III (acoustic versions from the 2 covers albums)

I nearly bought a ticket - got front row, and then I gave myself a stern talking to and closed the browser.

Just bought my ticket from the Wolverhampton fan club presale. I was offered one ticket for the balcony just after 9am, tried to find a better, one with no luck, and then the message came up that all balcony seats had been sold. I went away for a while. Looked at the Civic's site but it appears they will only be selling the standing tickets. When I looked again at Songkick the first ticket I had been offered appeared again so I bought it. Cost £55 ticket, £5.50 service charge, £2.50 delivery = £63 total. Of course it is only a small balcony at the Civic but I didn't expect tickets to go so fast.

I had a look at the Albert Hall gig because the Civic Hall website says its sold out. And its pretty nearly sold out. I could have got a single seat but not a pair together. A venue with capacity of 5k+ is nearly sold out, so maybe that's why they went so fast. Also I suspect the seats would go fast too, if the venue is mostly standing.
