The email I got said 'intimate surroundings'. I'd hardly describe the Hammy Odeon or the Armadillo in Glasgow as intimate. I'll be astonished if they sell out the Armadillo as I'm not even sure they sold out the Concert Hall the last time. Anyway this soldier from the Quo army has hung up his air guitar. Rick's passing was the end for me. I'm so glad we got the Frantic four shows and my only disappointment was i only made 7 shows across the two tours due to back surgery or it would probably have been in double figures.
I'm not bothered by others going along. No one is forcing any one to go and if you like this stuff then hey ho knock yourself out. I'd probably even think twice about it if offered a freebie if I'm honest.
In reference to the Ritchie Blackmore and Rainbow comments. Two of his band were in his Blackmore's Night's group so not complete strangers. And given Rainbow was a revolving door of personnel at the best of times it probably doesn't really matter who is in the band as long as they can play. I saw them last year and it was pretty damn good. The vocalist had to fill the shoes of Gillan, Coverdale, Dio, Bonnet and Lynn Turner and did an exceptional job. Seek out Stargazer on you tube or Child in Time for evidence.

Yes, the 76 Live album was an intimate, I'd actually go further - almost candle-lit occasion
The mood is being re-captured so well here I think

Funny, that doesn't sound even slightly like Francis. No it doesn't sounds like Francis.
It does sound very much like Simon Porter.
Everything's fake these days. Quo were once the ambassadors of everything honest and real. I guess that's what most of us are mourning, at the end of the day.

Saw 'Aquostic' at Portsmouth in 2015, thoroughly enjoyed it but only as a 'One Off', since the FF Tours it hasn't been the same, and last year at Bournemouth will probably be my last Quo gig tbh, after 59 gigs in 32 years, it's run it's course, for those who go, enjoy it but without Rick, I'm out as it stands, cheers for a lifetime of wonderful Quo memories

They play to a different audience these days. Some of the old fans will go because that's what "They Do", however I have heard of other people going to the acoustic gigs who are not Rock fans. However they like the acoustic versions of the Quo songs so happily go along to something different. My OH would not mind going to the acoustic gigs as she finds the tracks less of a "noise". Look at people like Ed Sheeran who my wife loves. He is making a fortune by playing this style of music. It's very popular at the moment which is a shame.
The state of the music world is either Rap/pop/hiphop crap. or Acoustic smooth music. Rock music in general is out of favor with the GBP and is now and has been for a while a more niche market.

Whether you like Ed Sheeran or not (I don't.), the point is that Aquostic is strum strum strum with large parts missing out of songs, backing singers that ARE literally eye candy because they certainly can't sing in time (or in tune), and Francis' vocals are no better. Maybe it's quieter than the electric gigs but it's as much of a noise. Then again, acoustic seems to be in favour at the moment because acoustic music is seen to be "cool". Shove it in people's faces enough and they'll like it. If their pals think it's cool, they will follow suit even quicker. That is the Gullible British Public at work. Let's not tell a certain someone that, because it's only men and FF fans that want to be cool. Macho even.

Look at people like Ed Sherran who my wife loves. He is making a fortune by playing this style of music. It's very popular at the moment which is a shame. I wouldn't necessarily include Ed Sherran, but I like acoustic music and acoustic gigs.
I just prefer artists that are good at creative acoustic music (and acoustic gigs which reflect that) to watered down Quo karaoke

Ed Sheeran is terrible.
I'd actually rather go to an Aquostic gig and listen to the two albums, on a loop, than listen to him

A few fair sized venues there 'acoustic gig' wise.
But, you never know, there's still plenty of time for those dates to suddenly & mysteriously be changed to 'electric gigs'. Not that I'm saying they've ever been the types to ever, er, 'change their minds' about anything
Mikey So there you go
Still, it wasn't actually very hard to predict was it?

Well spotted, Mikey!
We're not suggesting, are we, that it was the intention all along to have an Electric Plan B, should they be unable to sell enough Aquostic tickets?
