The Lancaster Bombers Great poster's noizeboyz. Reminds me when I saw the Lancaster/Brewster band at the Bridge Hotel in Balmain, great night but my girlfriend at the time hated it, she liked U2. I know U2 done Caroline and Paper Plane at gigs before they were signed, when they were 16 or something, so the joke is on her

He has three more demos on youtube, which I really like but which are different from standard Quo of the time.

Enjoyed the PB's with Swanee who in his prime was a far better singer technically than his brother, Jimmy Barnes.
Best Bombers gig I saw was the one (with Coghlan on drums) that finished with Bob Young on for Roadhouse Blues!
Never a fan of Angry's time in the band as he did too much preaching between songs.

Gary from Coburg, a Working Class suburb of Melbourne, did a lot of preaching between songs because he thought he knew a lot about politics, which he didn't, that's why he ran as a candidate for The National Party, which is ironic, because their policies don't help battlers from The Working Class. Gary is almost an anagram Angry, it just needs an "N"
Swanee was and still is an excellent singer, very well respected by the industry and fans. I've seen him many times in the last 4 decades. Barnesy would agree that his 1/2 brother is a better singer and then laugh loudly with gusto. I heard Swanee interviewed on WSFM recently promoting some gigs he was doing.

I've been to The Bridge Hotel many, many times which is in ROZELLE, Sydney. Which is next door to BALMAIN. Which is the better 1/2 of The Wests Tigers. It's a shame they amalgamated with Wests, because Balmain Tigers were a great and proud Rugby League Club. They're not my team, though I did respect Balmain Tigers and not Wests. In 1993 I saw Matthew Sweet at The Rose, Shamrock and Thistle in Rozelle which was one of the best gigs of all time and at Selinas Coogee, which was way too loud. Shame he's afraid of air travel. It was his only tour of Australia. I rate Matthew Sweet as one of the best male artists of all time because he is. QUO are the best Rock band of all time, though I have a broad and eclectic taste in music. The Bridge Hotel is in ROZELLE

And more importantly, why do you dislike the Magpies? If people think Quo have gone down a path that puts fans offside, rugby league is a great example. It is now glorified touch football and I can't stand it - haven't watched a game for 15 years. As for Swanee btw, I recently went to Jimmy Barnes speaking tour after reading his book too. He admits Swanee was his absolute hero. A very tough guy who got into many fights and actually spent one day in the army before walking out. Their biggest vocal influence was Paul Rodgers - a good choice! And they are full brothers (same dad), when their mum remarried all the kids took on the new surname but John loved his real dad too much and refused. Still have the interview with Nuff where he said the PB's were actually after Roger Daltrey before Swanee.

There was a recent post stating that The Bridge Hotel was in Balmain, which it isn't, it is in Rozelle. So I thought I would incorrectly report the status of Swanee and Jimmy. Very subtle I know. Roy Masters' "Fibros v Silvertails' 1978. Have you seen the DOCO. IT IS INACCURATE CLASS WARFARE. The money stops at Balgowlah and starts again at Newport. I lived in a Fibro house in Avalon. There are many working class and lower middle class people on The Northern Beaches and financially comfortable people in The Western Suburbs. Oh, poor Westies are so hard done by. Well, the pendulum has swung over the last few decades. Latte sipping Liberal ( Torie ) voters now. My politics are very Left Wing, I support the Battlers! There are a lot of Battlers on The Northern Beaches. I actually try to watch as many Rugby League games as possible these days.I love the game. The worst aspect of the sport is the atrocious refereeing and administration. The best thing about watching AFL or Union b4 a League game is that they make Rugby League look so much better.

Gaz, Canberra are possibly my No.2 team these days. There's a lot to like about them as a club, admin and players. They catapulted Todd Carney for poor behaviour. They set a high standard on and off the field, which a lot of League supporters respect. If Manly don't win the Premiership this year I'll be barracking for Raiders. The Viking "hand clapping' creates an awesome atmosphere.
To own a fibro house anywhere in $ydney would be good.

Sorry, there is only one football....and it's round. Not a fan of soccer but I must give credit to those that play the A League here in Oz... they're not the posers and actors, re: fake injuries (penalties),that they are in Europe.
