I live in Australia, lucky to be born here. I thank the universe in my award speeches. Anyway, I had the pleasure of seeing hundreds of the best rock and " pop " artists in the 70's/ 80's / 90's when we had the LIVE venues. This is a long winded way of saying that I saw The Bombers many, many times in venues where your feet had to negotiate a sticky carpet floor, oh hang on that was The Manzil Room/ Springfields. I think that was the last venue I saw our beloved Englishman TED MULRY in TMG. RIP TED, what a lovely fella he was, very cheeky too. Alan also teamed up with The Angels' John Brewster and Rose Tattoos' Angry ( Gary ) Anderson for some of the best rock gigs ever experienced. Late 80's. Alan was also in one of the best line ups of The Party Boys who had a No.1 HIT with their cover of South Africa's John Kongos 1971 song " He's Gonna Step On You Again " The Bombers were a versatile Rock band, and you could see that Alan was having a good time playing with them. If only the FF swallowed their pride and played small dingy clubs and bars in the USA in the 70's ....... Have I mentioned b4 how much I love Alan Lancaster. Did you ever see him in the short lived groups "The Lancaster/Brewster Band" & "Out Of Order" again featuring Brewster

slowtrain 7: thanks for your post. Do you have any tour dates for the Party Boys, The Bombers and Lancaster Bombers? Please have a look at www.quogigography.net/86.html and feel free to add your comments if you have any information about Alan. I'll add it to the relevant page. Thanks, take care, Cheers!

I googled OUT OF ORDER, they came up as a Chicago Punk band. Though, I did see The Lancaster/Brewster Band as many times as I could. I chatted with Alan & John Brewster at quite a few of their gigs. Great guys.

Thanks and enjoyed that review and brought back a few memories of The Bombers gigs though nowhere near as loud as Quo 70s due to noise level restrictions in the 80s and onwards. Yes I couldn't believe I was so close to half of Quo when I saw them... a few metres. Yes Alan a genuinely nice bloke to chat with. The Party Boys were another great concept band... loved the gigs with Angry Anderson, and Joe Walsh from the Eagles. He and Kevin Borich those nights were guitar heaven.

I'd like to chat to Alan. I wouldn't spill a tray of tea over his legs either
