So reports say Rossi made no mention of Rick during the First show back in Tallin last night. Closest he came was saying "bad things" happened last Christmas. What a shame he couldn't make some small announcement

What a shame he couldn't make some small announcement However difficult it might be, it should be the most obvious thing to do. Probably because it should be the most obvious thing you should want to do and that alone should help overcome the difficulty.
The second point is that he should be aware of the feelings of many of the fans and want to speak in respect of Rick on behalf of them

Most probably 'business as usual' for the band in Finland (?)... but hopefully Francis will deliver his feelings of his mate of 50 years, the mighty Rick,in a more appropriate manner during their tribute gig.

For years Quo have championed themselves as a 'leave your troubles at the door' band. To play devils advocate, perhaps mentioning Rick to soon or too frequently could bum people out.
If and / or when the video montages come back to live shows, I'm sure Rick will feature very heavily. The Who do the same for Moon and Entwhistle.

Why would he mentionRick...this band have continued on the deluded illusion that its business as usual and sure they are doing just great without him, why would they bring this to the attention of an audience who either don't know who Rick is, or don't give a fuck or they wouldn't be there to start with...
You're right Davy, what whallopers

If he mentioned Rick all the deluded fans might remember the good old times and walk out of the gig.

I'm guessing it's still Quo to you? The remaining members of Motorhead knocked it on the head when Lemmy died. Brian May and Roger Taylor NEVER let a gig pass without mentioning or paying some tribute to Freddie and, to a lesser extent, John. Roger and Pete still pay tribute to John and Keith. Paul McCarthy still remembers John and George at gigs he does and pays tribute to them. U2 wrote a song called One Tree Hill 30 years ago for a member of their crew, who died. They still play it on every tour, in the city he died in, as a tribute to him. It's called common decency and respect. So yes, some of us do expect the guy, who wouldn't have made it without Rick, to pay some sort of tribute/remark about him, on the very first gig he has performed, after Rick's death!! Allowing someone to mimic Rick's moves and stances is also poor form

I said in a previous post that I don't think it matters if Rossi doesn't mention Rick at the 1st gig - We all know he would have been thinking of him. There is no way he couldn't after all those years together. What I am more bothered about is him allowing 'the replacement' to copy Rick's actions. That's just too much for me to bear.

I think in pursuing the (obvious) lost cause over the Facebook analogy to create a red herring, you may have missed the pertinent part of his post which was to correctly point out that some tribute/remark about Rick was not much to expect on the first gig after Rick has left us.
Not sure that there is anything too wrong with that personally

Hi All, I said this on the other thread related to this one a simple 'This is for you Rick' especially as it was the first gig since his passing...
