I was looking through FB and someone shared a pic from one of the fan pages of someone's whole spare room plastered with Quo stuff.
Now by all means Quo were one of my favourite bands as a kid, but now I rarely listen to them. An album every few months at the most as there's so much else to listen to. Going by some of them nutters on FB they only listen to Quo and really dedicate their life to the band.
My collection for the past 20 years has only spanned Piledriver through NTL (minus ROATW & IYCSTH), and Heavy Traffic. I got to a point years ago where I just didn't see any point listening to the FF era stuff anymore as quite frankly it bores me now. The last spurt of enjoyment I had was when I realised Quo wasn't the pile of shite I remembered it being, and even then I only listened to it the once.
A lot of people live by this "Quo is life" ethic which is quite sad in a way when there's so much more music to discover. I don't know how people haven't gotten bored and moved on to new stuff.
Let's not beat around the bush, there's only so much you can do with twelve bar boogie and they really did it all, which is probably the main reason they just don't do it for me anymore.
The only reason I stay on here is to share thoughts and memories and have a good laugh, but as for the ones on FB, they need to get out more.
So, how much do/did you love the band?

Before Rick passed away I didn't listen to Quo much..I'm not a fan of the acoustic stuff so i started listening to a lot of Gary Moore..Noel Gallagher & a bit of Oasis..but since Christmas Eve Quo has been all I've listened too. I don't believe in fate but I always thought how strange that Quo played there last electric concert on the 23rd December 2016 & than we lost Rick the next day. I have been buying a lot of Quo stuff on eBay..I bought Rick Parfitt's Name Game,a few cd's to replace the ones I have only got on vinyl. I don't have posters on my bedroom wall as I'm 46 years young.

I don't really understand the getting bored bit, tbh. I still like all the stuff I've ever liked, although my tastes have evolved to include stuff I'd never heard of as a youngster or stuff that left me cold when I first heard it. Quo regularly pop up when I'm playing music, although there can be spells where I don't happen to play any for quite a while.

Up until 1998 I mainly listened to Quo exclusivly. With a bit of Queen/Led Zep/Slade and Deep Purple shoved in now and again, By 1998 I was driving and had a car with CD player so I started to explore many other artists. (Easier to play the CD in the car than making endless cassette tapes). I still listen to them often but not as much as I did a boy.

Quite a lot...
An example would be that I can't decide what my favourite concert i attended was.
It's between The FF in 2013, and Pink Floyd (classic lineup) in 2005.
That sets the bar quite high.
It's probably the FF. Because the way the concert began, the band standing in formation as per the Hello! Album, Jackie Lyndon's voice, and playing the songs from the Live! Album.

I like Quo enough to be 'normal'... I do not like them enough for my life to revolve around them and have a Quo shrine of a room

I always had pictures up at home and in the office in the early days. Not plastered, but enough to make me feel they were around. They were my main musical interest at that time. I listened to them more than other bands, and enjoyed seeking and learning about their back catalogue. As years went by, even in years when I saw very little other music, I was waiting for December and Quo's return. They were the band that could draw a tear from my eye, and I would go to even if I had a temperature. When I was ill with a potentially lethal illness in 2003, 20 years after I became a fan, I said that if nothing else went well, I hoped I would last long enough to see Quo again. This was not nostalgia. They remain my long time band. It doesn't matter whether I listen to them or not. I know that at times, their impact might fade as I become involved with other things, but it was real and will return. I have never stopped following the band. I have not taken to Aquostic. I don't hate it at all, but I see there is enough sentiment there for me not to want to "install" those versions, like I would not wish to spend time listening to versions by a competent cover band (or even a brilliant cover band) that is interpreting the music in a way which is not harmonious with the original Quo. This is I think a personal thing to each listener.
Now with Rick gone, I feel that everything is on shifting sand, and I will wait and see what happens. I still recommend Quo to other people - I am after all a fan; but I might say that they are different from what they were. Things change.

Passing interest at most now.Never had a badge, patch or photo but bought all the albums up until Perfect Remedy on the day of release or before. They've played 4 tours in Bournemouth and I haven't bothered with any of the shows.Hammersmith 2013 was a bonus for me.I really gave in at Wembley in 1988,I was not enjoying it and couldn't wait to go home...I had a fcuking rotten seat next to a bloke who appeared to think he was in the band.

I'm more and more stuck in the 70's....
Other than being a fan raised in the 70's glorious hey-day I also find it easier to look at old footage and listen to the older material since Rick has been gone..

Hi All, Although Quo are my all time favourite band I try to give all the music I have a good listen too, so it is taking a longer time between each sitting of Quo feasting as that music collection grows in mass and genre.
To be honest I was never what you would call a fan where if you cut me in half it would say (Quo till I die!-You know like the wording in seaside stick of rock) just loved the music and felt the emotional trauma and frustration as many fans have through the years with the band both good and bad...
Geoff.
