I just wrote this on the Quo fanclub page on facebook, but might as well copy it here:
Memories of those Status Quo reunion gigs (none of the 'Frantic Four' marketing nonsense for me, thank you very much - it was STATUS QUO!) are so much more precious now, with Rick having passed away. I still can't believe he's gone. I've been pretty depressed about it for the last few weeks. I was in numb shock for Xmas & January. But in February I have been depressed about the whole messy end of my favourite band. Yesterday I played Hello, Quo and On The Level and I realised that of course, Rick lives on forever in the music. But we will never ever again have the chance to see Status Quo play live again, and that makes me so grateful that those reunion gigs happened at all. Looking forward to Minehead, and trying to recreate a bit of that old magic with the Quo Army.

I really wish I'd gone to that first gig now. I think the emotional feeling took us all a bit by surprise. I wasn't expecting the reunion to mean that much to me. I was going to Hammersmith and then Wembley as well and to arrange travel up to Manchester, midweek was a step to far. I'd give anything to be able to do it again now though

I just wish Francis hadn't decided the 2nd reunion would be the last one. We all knew they wouldn't be able to do it many more times - may be 2 or 3 if we, & they, were lucky. Of course, it would also have been even better if they'd done it years & years ago, but there y'go. After over 30 years, it was very, very special!

Yes, it was a shame for all involved (with one obvious exception) that we didn't get more. On the other hand and with the benefit of hindsight, I think there's a very good chance that further FF gigs would have resulted in last year's sad events happening much earlier.

While the action was happening in the North West of the country, I was down in the South East, trying to get the latest news on the set list, how it was sounding, photos and any other bits of information that came from the Manchester 02 Apollo.

I remember someone posting "It's Juniors!" as the curtain went down. I don't think I'd have been able to post during any of those gigs.

Also - lest we forget - and we didn't know it at the time, but 4 years ago the Quo message board was in its final days.
It probably only had a few weeks left, which was full of mad praise and lots of happy Quo fans celebrating the reunion tour, and then...Bula Quo caused the biggest backlash of disappointment and spite I think I can ever remember reading on the message board, and then it closed down.

For all any of us know further reunion gigs, or the prospect of them, may have had quite the opposite effect.

And Ricky's board disappeared a couple of years later in very mysterious circumstances. I don't suppose we'll ever know why, although I'm pretty sure it wasn't Ricky who pulled the plug.

Yes, of course it's speculation (I did say "I think...") and yes it could have had the opposite effect, although I do doubt that, given Rick's underlying heart problems.
