Pure speculation. For all any of us know further reunion gigs, or the prospect of them, may have had quite the opposite effect. Yes, of course it's speculation (I did say "I think...") and yes it could have had the opposite effect, although I do doubt that, given Rick's underlying heart problems. I understand your point, but on the other hand Rick was clearly quite euphoric after Dublin & perhaps he was less so when back in the same old same old, let alone Aquostic, & being happy with what you're doing can be a very positive force in terms of your general well being ...... so I think it could have the potential to be good or bad, depending on Rick really, as it ever was I suppose.

Also - lest we forget - and we didn't know it at the time, but 4 years ago the Quo message board was in its final days. It probably only had a few weeks left, which was full of mad praise and lots of happy Quo fans celebrating the reunion tour, and then...Bula Quo caused the biggest backlash of disappointment and spite I think I can ever remember reading on the message board, and then it closed down. And Ricky's board disappeared a couple of years later in very mysterious circumstances. I don't suppose we'll ever know why, although I'm pretty sure it wasn't Ricky who pulled the plug. I know why. Rest assured it's nothing sinister.

I remember hearing the announcement on planet rock about the reunion tour and then going on the message board which had gone into a frenzy.
I wasn't at that gig but was at Wolves in front of Alan....a magic night and the best and most anticipated gig I've ever attended.

I have said before on this topic that I was away swanning around in my speedos in Egypt. I thought I would keep away from any news, text messages or Youtube clips etc until after I saw them at the Hammy. But NO that did not happen. I recieved text messages straight away about the set list, of course I read them,I suppose what true Quo fan wouldnt. Then on my return back in Blighty it was straight on Youtube to see the magnificent clips and to read the glowing reviews. Sadly it will not happen again.

I'm so glad I flew to Manchester for this night. I will never ever forget this gig, the build up, the atmosphere and the immense roar when that curtain dropped and when Francis introduced Alan and John. It was one of the best nights of my life - and I will cherish this day til my last breath. And now I'm off to watch the gig on DVD! Edit: I'm so glad it happened at all and that I was able to attend the very first and the very last gig of the 13/14 reunion tours - and some in between letsrock

I wasn't at that gig but was at Wolves in front of Alan....a magic night and the best and most anticipated gig I've ever attended. I never got to see Quo live before ITAN, and I refused to go and see them afterwards. So, with seeing the band of musicians that meant the most to me, I was in no doubt about how important it would be to me. I saw all 4 Wolves concerts, always stood in front of Alan - front row for the very last one was nice, but I preferred being a few rows back, lost in the morass. I wonder how near I was stood to you, Colin. In 2013 I was about 5 rows back in front of Alan. Must have been quite close.

I was on the old board and was one of those who said a reunion wouldn't and shouldn't happen.
How bloody wrong was I?
Manchester Apollo 14,like stepping back in time.
A true rough arises rock and roll band.
With finesse.

Just finished watching the DVD with a huge grin on my face. Oh what a night - then and now. What a heavy sound. The smiling faces of them 4. The songs. The sheer power. The enthusiastic crowd. The love that was in the Apollo. Got goosebumps every time I watch that curtain drop and the following 90 minutes. What a fecking great band I chose 13 years ago. I still remember when the tickets went on sale, I was that nervous, I've never felt anything like it before in terms of music. Would I get the tickets I wanted? Would I get them in time? Would everything work out fine? Thank God it did! I wasn't this nervous in terms of music until THIS evening arrived and I stood about 6 or 7 rows back on Alans side in the Apollo. Nearly got a heart attack as the lights went down. This just should be topped in terms of nervousity (is that even a proper english word?) 4 days later in Glasgow when I got to meet my 4 heroes. Ah, happy days

Aaah, the original messageboard. Now that brings back memories, there really were some rather strange people on there. Did derryquo post on it?
