"When the opportunity came up to play in New Zealand – after more than four decades and with the same set list but without anyone the NZ public would know but paying top dollar anyway......we fucking jumped at the chance."

Ah the feeling we had in 1997 when they finally came back to Oz - really felt it would never happen, then like buses they just kept coming!
Looking forward to Sydney. Whatever the naysayers reckon, it is a chance for the Quo faithful to get together with old pals one more time and hear the music.

You mean Francis Rossi to play with his new band for the first time ever in New Zealand?
That's about it.

Great news today that the rumoured Quo gigs around the "Rock The Boat" cruise are now confirmed, as follows:
October 11 - Vector Arena, Auckland - tickets on sale already October 13 - The Star, Gold Coast (currently Jupiter's Gold Coast) - tickets on sale already October 15 - Sydney Opera House October 24 - Hamer Hall, Melbourne
Looks like they kept the same venues as if it was an acoustic tour, but who cares, more Quo in this part of the world has to be a good thing! Full tour coming up for me.

Some people on the FB band page are very strange.
People getting really angry, upset and insulting people for saying they won't be going, as it's not Status Quo to them anymore. Read comments about how this is what Rick wanted and he'd be turning in his grave if Francis didn't do this and if he read that fans won't go because he was out of the band....
I have my own opinions that I put forward in a way, that some find irritable and get mad at on here but, I'm nothing compared to some of that lot. Fans of the current line up are very peculiar.
Hope they don't find out about this place :/

Yep.. looks like The Status Quo is retained and the Aussies are gonna love it. I predict that the gigs will sell very well. And I wouldn't be surprised if there is an Alan and Fran get together somewhere while they are over there. Happy days !

As far as I'm aware, Spud is trying to get Nuff to play with him at Minehead. If that happens (please, please please...) then Alan won't be down under when Francis visits.

"When the opportunity came up to play in New Zealand – after more than four decades and with the same set list but without anyone the NZ public would know but paying top dollar anyway......we fucking jumped at the chance." You forgot to mention that they are down that way anyway for Rock the Boat, so they are only going to NZ because it's convenient

Presales have been very strong this morning and the Aussie faithful are no mugs. It is advertised clearly as Quo's last Australian gigs, Rick's passing is stated and the photos are all of the current lineup. It is also noted that the short tour is in addition to the cruise gig that was booked with Rick still in the band.
Yes there are some twits on FB, but on the whole many are responding to the immediate "no Rick, Francis making money, CQ" crap that gets thrown around for no immediate reason. Then the precious ones get defensive and it escalates from there.
Geez I'm glad I'm winding back FB.

Presales have gone well. Melbourne offered most of the very front row in the pre-sale, nabbed two of those dead centre. Sydney Opera House was less generous, didn't spot any availability in the front couple of rows via pre-sale. Also scored front row for both the Gold Coast and Auckland shows. Looking forward to this final opportunity to see them in this part of the world.

Never thought I'd read they were coming over here ....... do I go or not ...... Will Alan be involved ? ..... will the concert sell ? .... Something tells me it will be cancelled .....could show some of the kids what used to be my favourite band were about .... do I go to meet other Quo fans here .....111 , kiwipom are you guys going ? .... if Rick was still alive and involved the decision may have been easier ..... anyone else have visions of a quarter full Vector , ex pats all waiting for Rockin All Over The World ...... my mates back in Blighty will be incredulous if I don't go ....
