Funny how you've never mentioned that until now... In all seriousness though, that must've been f**king unreal. It was. To this day, still the best gigs I've ever experienced. The Apollo had an atmosphere that has never been equalled. Parfitt at his absolute peak was something to see. I've often wondered. How many of Quo Apollo '76 gigs did you attend?

The two days of the 2013 reunion in Glasgow. Meeting up with folk from here, the buzz of waiting in line, then running to the front of the stage and finally seeing them. The next day, a bite in the Solid Rock and then over for the meet and greet. Magic. Never been so excited about a gig since I was a teenager.

Mine are similar to many of above, particularly the 1st ever gig. But to top it all would be as a very young lad of 9 years old who got hooked on Caroline after seeing the guys on ToTP, then bought the Hello album and had adored it, I persuaded my older brother's mate let me borrow Piledriver and DoTH - all that 'new' material within the space of a few days of my 1st hearing Hello, and I realised that I had found 'my' band. It would be playing those albums over and over and over ........ and falling under a spell that outlasted anything else I have experienced in terms of the entertainment industry.

Two spring to mind...
1. Being stood about 10 feet from Rick in Manchester on the Just for the Record Tour - seeing the power & the energy of the band at close quarters for the first time. Didn't stop bouncing up & down the whole gig!
2. Finally being able to see the FF at Hammersmith in 2013. I suddenly realised what all the fuss was about. Something magical happened when they played together. It just took it to another level. I went to the concert with my wife - a none Quo fan and she was blown away by their performance. A day I will never forget.
I wish I had seen them at their prime, but will always be grateful for the Reunion concerts.

In 1997, when I first heard that Status Quo would be returning to tour Australia for the 1st time since 1978. Bought tickets for that gig at The Enmore Theatre, then they announced another gig for the day b4 the other gig. So, we saw them 2 nights in a row. I was totally euphoric with the news. In my mind I can still see Rick Parfitt strolling from one side of the stage to the other side, smiling and nodding to the audience, nonchalantly playing his guitar as the GREATEST RHYTHM GUITARIST OF ALL TIME. There will never be another as good.
Plus every other time I heard that they would be touring Australia. Especially when I heard they were coming for the final time as an ELECTRIC band, though it is tinged with melancholy sadness.
GO THE QUO!!!

What a question!!! Where do I start. My sister taking me to my first Quo concert at the Harlow playhouse in February '72 a month before my 15th birthday, which to be honest I didn't enjoy, as it was to loud. Going to The Empire Pool Wembley with my mates in May '74, where I enjoyed it much more, but we were at the back a couldn't see a lot. Going to Hammersmith Odeon for the first time in Dec '74 and what a venue that is and was to become my Status Quo favourite live venue for the next 10 years, then again 29 years later for an emotional reunion, where I turned up with less hair, less teeth, less hearing, bit more weight and the same enthusiasm & expectations, I did all those years ago. Other gigs that come to mind, Olympia '75. Cardiff Castle '76. Stafford '77. reading '78. Paris '79. Most Hammersmith Concerts 1974/84, 2013/14. Brussels '81 NEC Birmingham '82. Milton Keynes '84. But to put one 'Quo Show' ahead of any others has to be (I think I might of mentioned this before...) the band playing the Southend Kursaal on 1st March 1975. My favourite band playing my hometown on my 18th birthday and to find out that my favourite Quo track, Roll Over Lay Down is going to be released as a live single. It doesn't get better.

Aside from the obvious (first time seeing them, FF reunion etc.) one of my best memories was at Blackpool Princess Ballroom in 93 on the Just for the Record tour.
During ROLD, in the middle quiet bit, before the build up, Francis was playing his usual little simple 5 note melody - you know, the bit that goes "bow, bowww, bow-bow, bowwwww" whilst Rick is doing his arpeggio thing. Anyway - Frame usually mouths the guitar noises during this bit, and so do I. We made eye contact whilst both mouthing the notes he was playing and he did a double take with me, and it was the first time that I'd ever had a personal connection with anyone in the band. It was very exciting, because I'd never sought out a wave or a wink, and I didn't even think or was ever aware that they would look at us or notice us in the crowd.
Then a bit later on in the song, he was doing some more 'note mouthing' and he looked to me, to see if I was doing it, and I wasn't and he gave me a cheeky 'caught you out, mush!' kind of grin. It was bloody brilliant.

The first one on a Friday where I was pretty far back but Saturday's gig sold out & out the 4th row from the front, great gig. Still remember them playing Backwater, the crowd that night was fantastic. Would of loved to seen the frantic four at the Enmore.

Im jealous of your Quo history, kurs...how good is it. I only saw them (original Quo) back in 75,76,and '78... 3 times yet those gigs are still very real in my mind today. I'd have loved to have seen em, as many times as you, back in the day as you had. A band never bettered.
