As long as it doesn't get stuck in some museum or given to someone who shouldn't get it *coughprickchiemalonecoughcough*.

The executors of his estate might want it.

The executors of his estate might want it. That is a very valid point, Lyndsays article mentions executors taking a guitar. Then it was a replica white tele at the funeral so who knows.

Who owns it though? Was it Rick's or the band's?
You can now view company accounts for free on the Companies House website. If you look at some of Acklode's accounts you will see that it (the limited company) owns "musical and office equipment".

Yes, I meant, if it survives the execution process ... if Rick has a lot of debts, it might be sold. IF so I hope someone nearby with some spare money, does so.
I doubt the guitars are owned by the company - more likely that would be some of the PA gear or stuff bought for the studio on the fly.
Although I suppose it's possible that Rick sold his kit into the company to make it secure against (what he knew perfectly well) was his dodgy lifestyle.

As long as it doesn't get stuck in some museum or given to someone who shouldn't get it *coughprickchiemalonecoughcough*. Ridiculously biased comment, Richie has gone out of his way not to seem to be "impersonating" Rick in terms of stage behaviour, even to the point of having his own regular tele repainted to make it look nothing like Rick's. As other comments have mentioned, if the executors already have taken it as an asset to cover debts, especially in view of Rick's involvement in an illegal tax avoidance scheme, the likelihood is it will be auctioned at a specialist music memorabilia auction and the recipients will be HMRC.

It wasn't an illegal scheme. The investment made was entirely legal and deducted from his tax bill. It was only when the output from the scheme, in this case fully utilised data centres, didn't come to fruition, HMRC declared it void.

Don't really get how that's biased. Plenty of better choices in various Quo tribute bands in the country. Don't you remember his "MeMeMe" speech for Rick's passing?

I'd rather one of his kids end up with it or in a museum... certainly shouldn't go to anyone else

And his legs open, back against the amps pose for the opening of Caroline. And he mimicked Rick's actions on stage for the opening of WYW.... I'm not particularly biased either. Had no clue who he was until he played with Francis but, he's certainly not for me as a guitar player None of those four can be replaced, nor should three of them been replaced.

What would you suggest he does then? Stand ramrod still infront of Andy's keyboard riser just incase somebody takes offense that he's on what was Rick's side of the stage? I doubt any of us had a clue who he was before he got the call apart from the members of the band and in particular Rick, with whom he had been friends for years. Maybe you prefer Freddie? One thing you can be sure of in bands is the people can and will be replaced as long as the audience wants to see them, even the Beatles dumped members, I can think of few major bands that still have the original line up, though no doubt you'll take immense pleasure writing a list to prove me wrong.

Ah give it a rest would ya?! Who said anything about being offended? Who said he caused offence? No one! Fucking sick of people, mouthing off and throwing things at you that you didn't even say. You said he never mimicked Rick, I gave examples of where he did mimic Rick and you get defensive over what exactly? I don't even care. And, off the top of my head...Aerosmith, U2, ZZ Top, Motley Crue, Green Day, Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, The Strokes, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Kings Of Leon, Blur. And no, I don't prefer Freddie. Don't like either as guitarists from what I've heard. I prefer the magic of what made Quo great

Yea, but only in the beginnings of their career and before they got the popularity they did
