Was it the first album the Rossi/Frost combo appeared? From memory, I think so. Was "A Year" Nuff with Bernie Frost? I still don't know for sure. Yeah on the Quo site for lyrics it's credited as Lancaster/Frost. Bit of a weird one cause I didn't think he started working with Quo until pip come in...

I think it was because Again and Again to me sounded like a parody of themselves. Although it is rocking it just seemed too predictable and the lyrics were corny. I also disliked Long Legged Linda (sorry Boss). A lot of the others sounded too middle of the road 'poppy' and all the production and the brass jusy didn't seem right to me. I didn't mind the backing singers so much. I know what you mean Viv. Iycsth was unique in the Quo catalogue - easily the most lush and sophisticated production. But I do highly rate that album in terms of melodies. Again & Again is not a favourite of mine, but it has a helluva grandiose intro! LMF, SSMH and LAGG are some of Quo's best ever melodies I think. Even GTYTLM is catchy. You're right about the intro on A&A. It's fooled me at concerts over the last few years. Whenever I heard it in the medley I thought great, this one rocks, and then it goes into the first verse and I realise what it is....

If You Can't Stand The Heat should get the John Eden remix treatment like Rockin' did... and if they're going to do remastered deluxe editions they should actually properly remaster them and not just EQ the track as a whole... I wouldnt class these as remasters but clean ups of the original versions, EQ'ing the track and throwing compression on it Remastering always means dealing with the final mixdown What would "properly remastering" be in your view?

I wouldnt class these as remasters but clean ups of the original versions, EQ'ing the track and throwing compression on it I thought most of the albums had already been given the remastering treatment...so it stands to reason that these deluxe editions would have been issued using them as opposed to the originals? Not sure how it works sorry. As you can tell I'm not an expert in any of this stuff, I just like listening and playing it... The previous remasters were done by Tim Turan, the new ones are mastered by Andy Pearce (who's also remastered stuff by Free, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Marillion and ELP) and I'm pretty sure they aren't sourced from the same transfers either, because there are (subtle) speed differences between the 2005 and 2014-16 masters. To me the new versions sound better.

Bit of a weird one cause I didn't think he started working with Quo until pip come in... Alan talks about it a bit in the Piledriver deluxe liner notes. I think he was a friend of the band back then already (and had probably already written "Naughty Girl" aka "Dreamin'" with Francis around that time as well) but didn't become Francis' writing partner until the relationship with Bob went south...

I hated IYCSTH so I would be interested in hearing a remixed version, though I fear it was the songs themselves that to me were under par. The main reason I want John Eden to get his hands on the tape is because there's "supposedly" a longer intro to Accident Prone but was cut by Pip. I remember someone mentioning it on a past message board The main reason I want John Eden to get his hands on the tape is because there's "supposedly" a longer intro to Accident Prone but was cut by Pip. I remember someone mentioning it on a past message board It was mentioned by someone close to the band at some point but I can't remember who. Wasn't the intro for WYW similar to what the intro to AP would've been? It could've been Rick pointed that out. longgrey talked about it. While I can't see another reissue of IYCSTH in the near future, I think the full-length AP (and perhaps a few more gems that were missing on the deluxe editions) might see the light of day via some other release. At least that's what I'm trying to instigate.
