Overall it was a great gig, obviously not ideal without Rick and would much rather him have been there, but Richie did a fine job. I arrived just after The Lounge Kittens as i listened to them on youtube and they weren't my thing. I was sat on the second row on the end and one of my mates was on the front row, i snook in with him and remained there for REO Speedwagon. Speedwagon delivered a great set of familiar songs but the audience were crap. Got a plectrum from the bassist. Definitely seeing them again. A fat Scottish bloke next to me asked where I was sat. I was honest and told him 2nd row. He was suddenly agressive and told me to f*** off and used all sorts of foul, unnecessary language. I moved back and i felt threatened by his attitude. When the gig started i climbed over the seat and stood in the gap between the people and the seats. No point going through each song as it was pretty much the same thing but in a different order, apart from one, quite big change. The Proposing medley ended with a bit of Slow Train, which i have been wanting to hear live for years, I was so happy. Paper Plane was at the beginning of the encore which worked quite well, then Burning Bridges and a full version of BBJ, which was refreshing to hear. Richie is a fantastic guitarist but he held back a bit, then again, so would I if i'd have been given that opportunity. There was no mention of Rick throughout the show which was a bit disappointing. When the gig had finished, my mum confronted the fat Scottish bloke about his rude and agressive attitude towards a young fan. He then tried to twist the truth saying it was ME being rude! My mum told him to shake my hand and I asked for an apology. We thought he was sorry at one point and he suddenly snapped and went ballistic at us. He called us all sorts of names and I just said "you don't deserve the privilege of the front row" and walked off. People like that give quo fans a bad name 😠 So overall a good gig, but not as good as some others i've been to, shame it had to be ruined by a so called fan. Cheers for reading! letsrock PS, please don't turn this into an argument thread like the last review I did. If anyone wants to call me a retard please PM me and i'll personally report you to a moderator peace Just_Cuz_13

You didn't have a seat in the front row so what made you think you had the right to climb over? I'm not excusing the behaviour of the Scottish bloke but you didn't help yourself did you?

Glad to hear Speedwagon were good. They are the only reason I am still going to the Glasgow gig. Hopefully the Glasgow people will appreciate them more.
What time did REO come on ? I am keen to avoid the Lounge Kittens too, also saw them on You Tube and not for me either !!!

In Nottingham and Bournemouth, it's been around the same times, so Kittens 7ish to 7.20ish then REO 7.30-8.25ish with Quo around 9pm. REO Speedwagon didn't do much for me, Heep did a better job of getting the crowd involved through their German supports in my opinion, but their two big songs of course got a great reaction.

I see as you wrote your review you down graded it from great to good. It had it's great moments such as Slow Train, it's good moments and not so good moments when Rhino sung Rain. I fully respect Rhino and think he's a great bloke but his voice wasn't right for Rain, even briught down a few keys.

I wish for people such as yourself they'd replaced Rain with another song.

You deserved a bit of stick from the Scottish bloke, but of course you would try and get closer

Sitting in the front row, no wonder he's fat-lol, Seriously though that's why you cant beat the like of hammy standing, if your at the front you deserve to be at the front... should be no seats near the stage at any ''rock'' gig.!!

Totally agree. I hate how the gigs are seated. Those who want to sit can sit around the sides. They could at least half the floor so there are some seats at the back of the floor or something.
