From the box it looked more like 80,000 The onstage presenters at various times during the day were saying numbers from 50,000 to 60,000. When I spoke to Rhino on Friday, he said it was sold out at 62,000. Whatever the number was, it was a massive crowd and, from my experiences of being there for ten hours in the sunshine, a very good natured one. A radio 2 festival won't attract the world famous piss bottle ordnance launching society. They're finest hour was Jason and the Scorchers at Milton Keynes and the incredibly accurate surgical strikes ,none of those "to whom it may concern" bottles, reserved for Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul at Selhurst Park.

Some of my pi,,,, urine, found it's way in a bottle, hurtling towards the stage at Selhurst Park.

I thought Francis might of sent his best wishes to Rick, but that was probably asking for too much. I thought that as well.Johnnie Walker wished rick a speedy recovery just before they came on yet Francis couldn't be arsed to mention "his best pal". Maybe reading too much in to it but Rossi seems to be revelling in this new setup despite the fact his voice is shot having to carry all the vocals. Didn't catch the first bit of their set, agree bits of it sounded a bit country. If I compare it to an electric (never mind FF Quo) then wouldn't go see it or buy it, although if somebody used it as background noise I likely wouldn't complain. Compared to their first attempt at acoustic, this was miles better (ok it wouldn't have taken much to do that). I actually thought Francis's vocals were a lot better than 1st acoustic attempt, it seemed to be in a lower key, so he wasn't straining so much and his voice didn't sound so thin. All you musicians can correct me about the key, if I'm wrong.

Must have been young girls then when they first heard Quo. Girls do seem to grow up. They grow older... That doesn't mean they male or female mature or grow wiser. Or for that matter tastes change. My wife falls into this demographic. She still loves the music of her youth and hasn't become a lover of Val Doonican as she has matured. Confused I I loved Val Doonican as a kid and still love his music x decades later

Here's an example ...or maybe this is just an excuse to play this clip. ...welcome back btw

Francis would say your stuck in the past lol On the other hand, I'm sure he'd love to play Val Doonican type music. Im not sure he would like its simplicity. Rather hide behind backing singers etc.

I watched this last night. Bland, plodding, Frame mumbling, soulless, and that bloody accordion. Depressingly uninspired.

4th. Stop watching it then. Never happy unless not happy. Move on.. Goodbye nuffer. Rockon Wilquo stus...mate... in all honesty would you go and see Quo in its current form in Melbourne? I've seen Quo every time they've been here since '75. After Quo finally returned to our shores back in '97 I've thoroughly enjoyed every tour along with accepting they're a totally different animal than what we had back in '78. If they announced a tour here next year, without Rick, then I just couldn't bring myself to go. As far as I'm concerned Rick was the last flame of what I remember what got me into Quo in the first place. Hard to describe but I reckon most of us know what it is... pure rock energy. Francis, imo, is going through the motions and its plain to see. Rick may have the same thoughts as Francis but I think he appreciates many in the crowd have taken a chunk out of their lives to go see them and he gives 100 per cent.
