Curiously a picture with comments has appeared on the official Status Quo facebook page dated from 7th August 2014.

Rick Parfitt was flown home to Britain early this week by air ambulance from Croatia where he had been taken ill, leading to the cancellation of planned European shows up to and including 10th August. An angiogram undertaken as part of various tests done at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London has revealed that one of the grafts inserted during his original 1997 quadruple heart bypass had become furred, leading to this current problem.
The situation has been remedied by the insertion of a stent and Rick is now recuperating.
The band's management have confirmed that shows at Clumber Park NT in Worksop, Notts, and Holkham Hall in Norfolk (on 15th and 23rd August respectively) will go ahead as planned.
Manager Simon Porter added, “We are all obviously delighted that Rick has made such rapid progress, especially as the band is shortly to unveil another exciting and innovative new project, details of which will be announced in the next couple of weeks.”
........................................................................................................................................................... This is sandwiched between an advert for the Last of the Electrics and the Tiger Time stars and stripes auction notice. Very strange.

Ah! It has now been removed. Curiouser and curiouser. I wonder if they meant to post something else?

"especially as the band is shortly to unveil another exciting and innovative new project".
Oh. Good. God.
Anyway, good about Rick, bad about Porter's misjudged 'never miss a marketing opportunity' comment.

According to a showbiz forum I am a member of. Rick was seen last week in the Royal Brompton hospital having a right shouting match at someone. I sent the forum member a link to a pic of Simon Porter and it was him Rick was shouting at. Fantastic. Hopefully, Porter's condition has been noticed and he has been given a lengthy stay, especially as the Royal Brompton annual fun day is around the corner. Yes, I hear you're saying you're a music manager, Mr Porter.

As much as I would like to see one final FF tour I really think it is time for Rick to call it a day.Think of your wife and two young kids.
At the end of the day Rick you have given us the best years of your life.OK no one asked you to but you have certainly enriched mine and I am sure many others lives with your performances over the years.
Time to take it easy, put your feet up and enjoy family life as hard as I'm sure you will find that to be.
None of us are getting any younger and let's face it Rick you have left us all some pretty damn fine memories.

He was selling his home in 2014 - there was a thread on Ricky's mb about it and there's still one on cupsandcafes site. It must have been sold because the link on c&c is now to another property. So is your friend referring to that sale or to something more recent? Not to sure, he did say it sold for two million. My friend is a big Quo fan & I wouldn't know the slightest where he heard that from? Or if it was recent? Will meet up with him next Sunday, will find out more. Founded out that he read it from a record collector magazine in a newsagency, must be recent.

Ah! It has now been removed. Curiouser and curiouser. I wonder if they meant to post something else? Croatia was the 2014 one ... so someone pulled a wrong lever! July 3rd is past, so surely they should be posting something else soon.

He isn't... and us fans have had a few of these moments already. The question is how many times one can take something like this. And I'm sure nobody wants a Lemmy scenario for Rick. A ''Lemmy scenario'' he died from progressive cancer, completely different illness to Ricks, though neither are exclusive to Rock Stars or lifestyles. Get well soon Rick. God Speed Lemmy. Actually, I was referring to something completely different, not the cause of his death, but the way his health started to affect the live performances and how people kept worrying about concert dates and whether he'd still be alive next month etc., which had nothing to do with the cancer that would take him eventually, AFAIK. I know it was his choice to keep performing, but it was still upsetting to see. I think none of us want that to happen to Rick. I certainly don't.
