All good with Quo? I'm happy with it all. I always thought that there were going to be certain things that I'd never see. Luckily 2013 allowed me to hear Oh Baby, Blue Eyed Lady and April, Spring, Summer and Wednesdays played live. EOTR gave me The Mystery Song and my favourite bit of Slow Train played live.
I've seen/heard the live versions of 45OO Times, the Never Too Late tour version was the best I heard. I can't describe how good the segue from Backwater to Rockers Rollin' was in 1977 at the Lewisham Odeon or how good You Don't Own sounded at the same venue. Lewisham Odeon was the nearest large venue to where it all started and Quo really let rip that night.
I don't know about now but Something 'Bout You Baby I Like at the Hammersmith Odeon on the NTL tour was so loud it felt like it was pushing you backwards.
I saw the greatest live band in the World close up in fantastic venues for silly money. All good with me.
the funniest thing at a Quo gig? During the FF gig at Hammersmith Francis Rossi was natting away when a voice just behind me shouted out with real feeling "Get on with it", he couldn't wait.

During the period 79/84 dropping out one or two songs, DDMY or Over The Edge and putting in Don't Think It Matters wouldn't have drawn many complaints but it is what it is.

Satisfied beyond anything anyone could hope for in their lives. As you say, railroad007, the greatest live band in history up close during their classic era and beyond. And pretty much as often as I wanted as disposable income became a thing. In 1988, I sang along and shouted to such an extent I had to have an operation to remove an ulcer on my vocal chords 2 years later There are too many highlights to mention but the medley the first time I heard it on the "End of the Road" tour literally moved me to tears. And the opening bars of Caroline turning into Paper Plane at the start of the gigs in 1996 was awesome. As was the inclusion of Softer Ride which blew me away. There have been albums released since 2002 which I have absolutely loved. 30 years after first seeing band, they still came up with the goods. I've managed to fit in a life as well, which is no mean feat. Quo have seen off 3 wives; well, two plus the current one All 3 of them have put up with me and my obsession. Had the shoes been on the other feet, I doubt I'd have been as loyal or as understanding. My sister has been with me every step of the way since 1977 when I took her to the Apollo for her first Quo gig. She remains obsessed to this day. That was the day she binned David Essex and the Bay City Rollers No doubt there are other people out there as obsessed with an artist as we are, and probably music in general in my case, and if they're 16 or whatever, I wish them well. It's a long and very satisfying journey 👍

No, not really.
My Quo journey came to a halt in 2014. I've loved every second of it, both the good and the bad. Yet, I can't help but feel or wish I had have gotten more.
The joys of been born in the late 80s I guess. I missed out on the peaks of all my favourite artists

No Business like Quo Business...end of story Being a serious Quo Fan, is all about the memories created, in my case of following all things 'Quo' since buying my first single 'Rock N Roll' back in November 1981, and seeing the Band 'Live' for the first (and supposedly last) time at the St Austell Cornwall Colesium 6.7.1984, I've since managed 64 Quo gigs (and added solo/chat/Aquostic and tribute shows) Ultimately, we've seen members come and go, sadly pass away (RIP Rick and Alan) Francis say what we didn't want to hear, fall outs and stunts that were frankly embarrassing (David Walker management Years basically) being the Ultimate British Rock Band between 1972-76, crappy Covers albums, but it's part of any Artist of Longevity overall output, like with life, it's more Good than Bad, so we've all been lucky to be part of and witness the Quo story/ride No Other Band has, or ever will, come close to Status Quo

I felt very lucky to see them in both 2013 & 2014 as part of the Reunion Tours - I was too young to see them in their prime, but it showed me why that line-up was so special.
So, I could feel hard done by that I never saw them live at the peak of their powers, but to have such fantastic back catalogue to explore (my first album was Just Supposin’) and another 25+ years of watching the “new Quo” live was enough for me.

I wouldn't say that 2013/2014 wasn't Quo at the peak of their powers, apart from the mobility issue on stage that was Status Quo as good as I ever saw Status Quo. So don't worry Tommy, that's exactly what it was like everytime that line up took the stage. And to be honest Parfitt & Rossi were far better guitarists on the reunion tours than they ever were. I know crowds used to get into it in the 70's and early 80's but the reaction at Hammersmith in 2013 was something I'd never experienced at at Quo or any other gig....sheer mania.

That’s good to know! I certainly realised what a special live sound the four of them could create. I think the crowd reaction and euphoria throughout the 2013 gig at Hammersmith Odeon was on another level to anything I’d experienced before. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up as they launched into Junior’s Wailing! The best of memories….

I saw the FF on 2013 (Wembley) and 2014 (Stuttgart) gigs. It was heartwarming to see the old crew and Alan sang well enough, but instrumentally neither he nor John played with the energy, intensity and most importantly single-minded focus they had as young men. Alan's bass playing had lost its driving throb - I have a keen ear for that, it's what attracted me to him as a bass player -, his bass playing had always been very physical and he just couldn't deliver that anymore, it was heartbreaking. The "engine room" wasn't what it had been. Still happy I went. But that "head through the wall" insistence in his bass playing was gone.
John was just a little under-rehearsed and lacked stamina, but I was actually happy that he was not playing at the well-oiled breakneck speed the newer line-ups favor because Francis likes it that way. Quo too fast doesn't sound as committed to me, they lose heaviness and determination.

Got aboard the Quo train in 1974, I just haven't got off. I will be there till the end of the line. They have been a massive part of my life and my family's 😂.
