I suspect Francis remembers very well what it was all about. Strangely, I always thought it was about sex rather than drugs. (Unlike IMC, which even to my innocent early days was clearly about altered states of mind! The only person I knew who ran along walking on the rooftops was our cat Jacky, who was possibly born with an altered state of mind.

Other bands from the same era, Stones, AC/DC etc still produce great songs that you could say are generic, but that is what we want. Quo are now a syrupy M&S armchair version of the real thing. And they have been like this since 1982.

And they have been like this since 1982. They are though in a way Francis is the only one left in the brand "Status Quo" even though its now his version of "Quo" with session musicians playing the songs his way and he can do what he wants in them etc. Basically a tribute band to the glory days of the real quo and post live aid quo.
