Great song. This one, Better times, Dead in the Water and Mysteries from the Ball should have been on the album in my opinion

Terrific stuff. I first heard this on a bootleg demo album my sister brought me back from holiday in Majorca. She found it in a market or somewhere. I never knew this and Better Times existed so it really made me sit up and wonder where the hell these tracks had been No t'internet in them days, which was probably the mid-90's. We now know they were intended for the withdrawn Fakin' The Blues single, although why they never made the album, who can tell? They could have made a very good album great. 10/10 for me. Rick in sparkling form

First time I hear this, it's decent. As always the solo isn't long enough for me, but then I would probably say the same for 4500 Times. Also it's the first time I noticed the 'drop' in the Rock 'til You Drop title.

I don’t think there would have been many complaints had this been on the album instead of Tommy!

Does anyone know why the Fakin' The Blues single was withdrawn? I know it's selfish but it deprived us of two cracking tracks for quite a while. Officially anyway.

Not sure, I think people thought they were not commercial enough DW? However, why did they not still use HD/BT on the Rock Til You Drop replacement single. Instead of another daft Medley of songs we all had.

Instead of another daft Medley of songs we all had. It just seemed an odd decision and a very late one. Something must have been up. There's the old tale that the guitar shaped packaging was to be used for Fakin' The Blues but they scored something out on it (a number?) and used it for Rock 'til You Drop instead. Falling to bits that thing is now Maybe it was a music publishing thing, who knows? Maybe it says in the deluxe edition liner notes. But normally all you tend to get is "the withdrawn single etc...." Not that it matters. Just curious.

Great stuff. Was great getting this from the fan club after rtyd came out.
Was hard to divorce the enjoyment of the song from the frustration of it not being used.
Seems so strange that Rick didn't have sufficient power to insist his songs got used. It's not like he had that many of them!

I still have nightmares about that horrible, stilted 'look me straight in the eye' bit. Bit of PTSD 4th. Need to reference Apocalypse Quo for this one. "Saying this track is not as good as anything on Blue For You is like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500" "4th chord didn't get any panto Quo, a plate of Hello and some Backwater was all the rock n roll he needed" "Since JC left the bullshit albums piled up so high you needed wings to stay above them" "They left Damon Lyon Shaw and joined Williams and since then their methods became...unsound" "It was the way we had over here of living with ourselves. We’d cut Lancaster out and sing on Band-Aid. It was a lie—and the more I saw of them, the more I hated The Oriental." "I asked for an album and for my sins they gave me one and called it Perfect Remedy."

I think the reason so many later songs are "so Rick" is because it became increasingly rare for either of them to put any work into each others songs
