Sorry, but for me this is 'mediocre Rick' at the fore. Yes, its got a heavy sound and its much better than so much dirge they produced from 1982 onwards... BUT...it certainly hasn't stood the test of time for one thing and it is really Ricky by numbers. Its a far, far cry from his writing on say Take me Away or Coming and Going and that's only going back a short period of time - let alone the classic era of course.
So yeah, I don't mind it but its pretty forgettable. I can see why One Man Band made the album cut but this didn't. A much better track. Although as stated above there is no excuse why Tommy was included but this wasn't!!

RP trying desperately for 'rock credibility' but it comes across as forced, he's trying too hard and it isn't working. No wonder it got binned for a few years.

I think it's a better song and writing than no problem, the chorus really hits the spot
Agree Rick's songwriting was past his best, but isn't that true of most (all?) rock and pop stars over 35?

Swap Tommy for Heavy Daze, and maybe the album lives up to its title a bit more?

Great song. This one, Better times, Dead in the Water and Mysteries from the Ball should have been on the album in my opinion

100% agree…brilliant. You could’ve dropped these tracks straight onto Blue for you. Great sound & well produced by Frame. Can’t say the same for what followed a few years later….unfortunately 😂. IMO RTYD is Quo Mk 2’s best studio album followed closely by Heavy Traffic & QPQ.

Not sure, I think people thought they were not commercial enough DW? However, why did they not still use HD/BT on the Rock Til You Drop replacement single. Instead of another daft Medley of songs we all had. It just seemed an odd decision and a very late one. Something must have been up. There's the old tale that the guitar shaped packaging was to be used for Fakin' The Blues but they scored something out on it (a number?) and used it for Rock 'til You Drop instead. Falling to bits that thing is now Maybe it was a music publishing thing, who knows? Maybe it says in the deluxe edition liner notes. But normally all you tend to get is "the withdrawn single etc...." Not that it matters. Just curious. Around this period there seemed to be a lot of unsolved problems. Wrong single choices, withdrawn singles, poor packaging & availability of the singles in the shops. Not surprisingly this was Quo’s last involvement with Phonogram/Vertigo.

Well, the next releases were in Polydor, and it is the same company with other name, isn't it?

Polydor, as far as I know, was a sub label under the Phonogram umbrella - hence why they also had releases under Polygram Music. I'm sure Rossi mentions the hatred he had for phonogram at the time in either the Perfect Remedy or RTYD Deluxe

Remember noticing the writing underneath the sticker that they had stuck over the Fakin the Blues title and wondering what these 2 unknown songs were on the guitar case cd single. Eventually got the FTMO release of the cd single a few yrs later.
