Dortmund Westfalenhalle, 28th May 1982. Last gig of the 20th Anniversary Tour, prior to the Monsters Of Rock appearance in August.
Quite surprised you've only just come across it, as it was released on DVD back in 2006
Edit;- They played a 75 minute set that was cut down to 40 minutes, or so, for the TV broadcast - like the Dinkelsbuhl 1986 show.
Setlist;- Caroline Roll Over Lay Down Backwater / Little Lady Don't Drive My Car Whatever You Want Hold You Back Rockin' All Over The World Over The Edge Dirty Water Big Fat Mama Don't Waste My Time Roadhouse Blues Rain

I don't get out much Quoincidence!! Thanks for the heads up anyway! It was on this DVD. You should still be able to grab a mint copy from either eBay or Discogs. I don't think it was promoted much at the time, as it came out inbetween The Party Ain't Over Yet Doc and the Just Doin' It concert DVD.

Fantastic broadcast as far as I remember! It was on Swedish TV very, very late, almost in the middle of the night, I had rigged my casette tape recorder in front of the telly (family didnt have any video until many years later) and hoped I shouldnt wake up my parents. Listened to it over and over again, far better (IMO) than the NEC gig that was released later the same year!

The 2002 gig is great as well, as is the TOTP2 Special - love it!

I bought a bootleg video cassette of this at a record fair later in 1982. The guy dug it out, played me a sample to show it was good quality and off I went, happy as pie. The ba$tard had slipped me a mickey because when I got home, the version I had was more or less unwatchable He'd obviously swapped the tapes behind the counter. You live and learn It wasn't until that 2006 release that I finally got to watch it.

That is a better mix then whats on the DVD The DVD audio is a false 5:1 Stereo Mix, rather than the true mono channel. Tbh, it's visually more appealing than the N.E.C. footage. The overuse of blue / green lights during that concert makes it unbearable. It also looks extremely washed out, whereas the Dortmund footage is vibrant.

It’s always nice to get footage of the band live and I have this on dvd but the vocal sound - it’s completely drenched in a chorus effect - sounds a bit weird.
