blimy, the dog has woofed off already.!!! He'd maybe heard about Madam Lozza's "accommodation" and decided he'd prefer the option of going to the dog house

Francis lives in Purley. Who cares if it's in London or Surrey? Here is an excerpt from town planning in Purley, from Wikipedia. "In 2006, further change was on the cards as Tesco proposed to replace the store with a 6-storey building containing affordable flats above a new store. These expansion plans were subsequently shelved." Incidentally, Francis once named local supermarkets as places he got recognised and went home in a huff when it happened too often. (I wonder how often he shops?) he used to come into the Croydon marks n spencer where I worked a lot, sometimes though he would drop his mum off to do her food shopping and wait in his car outside, another time he was with his then girlfriend paige and she asked me if I could get her a bikini which I did and he autographed a cassette tape for me.

i had to google to find out what this tv show is and I have a new concept. If Francis is determined to go celeb camping how about the bookers just get people who don't like eachother to ensure sparks fly. As it's made in Oz the obvious one for Francis is Alan, I'd like to throw Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore into the mix as another potential two. Rossi and Gillan get on, so perhaps a case of taking sides?!

This is just management finding ways of keeping Rossi busy, and of course the "cabbage " coming in. The traditional routes of touring or recording are no longer viable after years of trashing the once great name of Status quo. Those routes are no longer viable for any band or artist that haven’t broken the US Market. Wether you trash your name or not. Quo ( Francis ) has done fantastically well to keep the band alive after 50 years under those circumstances. and there is absolutely no doubt he has worked the hardest to keep it going.

(I wonder how often he shops?) I have been in the Sainsburys near Purley a few times on my travels in the past but never bumped into St Francis of Purley in there. My birth certificate says I had been born in Surrey, a stone's throw from Purley. Talking Purley in London/Surrey here...not Purley on Thames. Thought it was interesting that Francis used to say that he liked going to Fairgrounds near his manor, but it would get impossible as peeps would eventually recognise him and hound him. He would get the hump and head back to the the safety of Farm Drive. I sometimes wondered if he felt some connection with travelling Fairgrounds and that way of life of essentially being on the road.

Simply not true. Loads of bands make good money out of live shows in the Uk and Europe who haven't cracked the US market. In terms of doing fantastically well to keep the band alive I couldn't disagree more. Keeping the band alive was incredibly easy given the massive fanbase it had in the late 70's /early 80's. What's incredible is how that fanbase has now been reduced to a husk rendering the band almost totally unviable as a commercial proposition.

Why do you think Rossi is reduced to spoken word tours and reality TV? From what I’ve seen, the band still pulls a decent crowd to their shows.. and to answer your question, isn’t Francis a self confessed insecure little show off?😉

He always talks so much about money, so he might do it for that. I know someone who regularly watches that show and if he were to get grumpy or create conflict, they said the show makers would like that. Its what they go for. Whether we as fans would want see that is another matter. I find it hard to believe he could put up with the physical discomfort for so long because he's regularly mentioned how much he likes his routine and personal comforts. I guess it comes down to how much he wants the dough.

Maybe the show bosses will stick Alan in there (he does live in Oz after all) to ruffle some feathers. But Joe Public wouldn't know who Alan is I guess.

I never know who half of them are anyway, so that would make no difference.
