Of the board members going to his I talk to much show, what questions are you interested in hearing answers to? Rather than asking questions you know the answers to, what questions, although hard, would be asked? 1...Do you regret continuing Quo after the recording contracts were finalised after the End Of The Road ‘ gigs? 2...Why haven’t you pushed more of the songs from Heavy Traffic onwards, in your gigs, rather than lean towards those nostalgic songs of the FF era?...and don’t accept the answer that ‘it just flows’... 3...What was your reaction to the heavy influence from Alan and Rick on the QUO album? 4... Can you give us more of an insight into the ‘magic circle’ during recordings of those classic albums? 5....Can you give us more info on your push into your attempt to crack America. 6... What did you say to Davyno, back in ‘76, that turned you from Quo legend into a waalloper?

I wanted to know about the Studio session he did with Rory Gallagher, Rick and John in 1976. Rory‘s brother wrote something in his book but there are still no full details released.

I would be interested in the reunions.
Q. Why exactly did you (Francis) agree to the reunion tours?
Q. You have been publicly critical, during and after the first reunions, of Alan and John for not being match-fit, so to speak. Though you must have been aware that they were hardly going to have the same stamina and dexterity as Rick and yourself without some serious amounts of rehearsals, as not lucky enough to be doing anything like the gigging schedules that Quo were doing at that time. Therefore why were you not more tolerant and less critical in the circumstances?
Q. Were all band members on good terms during and after the first reunion tour?
Q. You had been keen to do a second reunion tour a year later with the FF to tidy things up a bit as you felt there was room for a lot of improvement. Did the others agree with you that the first tour had been seriously below par?
Q. With hinsight do you think it would have been better to have stopped completely after the first reunion? Would this have helped to preserve the bonhomie between everyone, especially between Alan and yourself?
Q. The rot seemed to set in again during and after the second reunion, why was this specifically as the first reunion seemed more of a concern to you and tense and the second reunions were an improvement musically?
Q. With this in mind, why did Rick go from being critical, like yourself, about the first reunions with Alan and John but then suddenly seemed to want more of the FF?
Q. Why do you think Rick wanted more time with the FF after the second reunions and being far less critical especially considering that you had the opposing view?
Q. Is there any possibilty of another reconcilation between you and Alan? What would it take to get you both talking again?
...other non reunion questions...
Q. Why did Matt Letley leave the band?
Q. At the time, you tried to justify the trip to Sun City but do you see things differently now?
Q. Other than cover songs recorded by Quo, is there a song that you wished you had written and why?

Was it ever considered to do a third reunion tour with Andy and covering some of the 77-81 material excluded on the previous tours?
Why are so many of Quo's more recent releases badly mixed/mastered? Almost all the live albums and DVDs, Montreux '09 aside, have a muddy, compressed quality to them that does not invite repeated listening. Also, cut out announcements and fade out/in of audience applause, can't this be avoided?
How come your soloing improved by such a great amount once Rick was out of the band? Did you intentionally play badly or was it just an expression of being fed up with the band?

'Why so negative about the Frantic Four Era and Reunion Francis, when whether you like it or not, it made it who you are today musically and publicly?'
'The reason many people don't go to Quo gigs isn't Rick's untimely passing, but the same old set, year in, year out, why not play 2 or 3 back catalogue gems each tour to freshen it up?'
'Why did the Band make an effort to add Frantic Four classics into current Quo shows, then drop them and play safe yet again?'

To be honest I think that question isn’t relevant anymore. The FF are no more. It’s all history. Festivals and one off’s are where the money is now to keep the coffers ticking as far as SQ are concerned. We may get an album. We may not. I think that will come down to wether it is financially viable but I hope they do.

What I'd like to know is why the Frantic Four playing songs from the 70s is just nostalgia and not his thing. But the other version of Quo playing hardly any of their own post 1986 material aren't deemed to be just a nostalgia act in his head.

I believe Francis, when he refers to the term ‘nostalgia’ with the FF, doesn’t actually mean the music they made back in their heyday but it means the whole package of when they were together which included the many wasted years of their lives and millions of money lost (including a septum) through drugs and poor management which also included infighting within the band. You can’t tell me Alan wasn’t going to expell some of his underlying hatred of being kicked out of his own band all those years ago at some point during those FF reunion. The music is not what Francis refers to as nostalgia... it is the ugly side of the FF history he is talking about.

Does it really matter at the end of the day, but it's the one thing i wish he could have shut his mouth about and just let us have it.

Is your tailor short sighted ? .... your trousers never seem long enough When are you releasing Running Bear ? If PLC had evolved to touring and recording , would you have contributed ? Or would you have continued with your status quo ? Are you still a Palace fan ? If someone still smokes a couple a day , do you think it hypocritical to criticise somebody else’s lifestyle ? Do you still shoot clay pigeons ? How many records do you truly believe Status Quo sold ? Who / is / was the best manager Status Quo had / have and why ? Any unfulfilled ambitions musically ? Whilst in Status Quo , which year do you look back on most fondly ?
