Tonight, Fri 24th on BBC 4 at 9.15pm, all Quo's TOTP appearances are being aired in a single programme going right back to 1968 and POMM. Lasts until 10pm.
So should be music from all eras of Quo and for all eras of fans.

Has this been on before? Should not be missed. Well, up to 1976 at least!

Agree that the early tracks will be an enjoyable trip down memory lane. Actually we weren't allowed TV, so I only heard them on the radio. But I've seen the tracks as clips since.

But we were great radio listeners and I imposed the Sunday Radio 1 chart show upon the whole household. I can still remember how excited I was on hearing Down Down for the first time and leaping around our living room.

Thanks cg! just gonna set the planner to record! Edit: Just had a look... isn't this the same one that's been on before? I've double checked both Radio Times online and BBC iplayer and its not listed as a repeat. But there is always room human error from the person who logged the listing info.

Why do BBC feel the need to air old footage in a widescreen format when it just DOESN'T work and ruins the quality

I wondered why the version already on my planner is an hour long but just realised it's because that was broadcast on 'Yesterday' and had adverts. Funny how I stopped watching half way through to go an check it out....

I do remember seeing this originally now. It was the captions that reminded me.
I lasted until Madge and Rita Time, dipped the sound and then turned off during ITAN.
Still enjoyed seeing those early TOTPS though.
Was blown away Living on an Island and wondered if Francis was jealous of Rick writing such a great ballad. Not sure I appreciated it in the way I do now.

And agree, I'm definitely appreciating Living on an Island more now! Was that live or mimed? I didn't notice at the time. I loved that POMM was live with Francis almost giggling in places. I went back afterwards and fast forwarded to the end. Nice to see the energy of a live performance of Whatever you Want recorded in 2000 but it was way to fast.

And I was aware that they left out ROLD because that charted after DD. But I guess they were choosing tracks for the wider Quo audience than us.

My understanding is that TOTP was always mimed. I've even gone off RAOTW and was a bit meh when that came on but I loved it back when it came out. What I also noticed is that if you only listen to Quo's chart material, you don't appreciate how varied their songs/tracks are from their albums. I'm sure that's how the 3 chord tag stuck. And why I couldn't understand it as I'd only listened to complete albums.
