Yes I waited for Army just to see if the Noddy Holder comment was still there but I don't suppose they would edit it really... And agree, I'm definitely appreciating Living on an Island more now! Was that live or mimed? I didn't notice at the time. I loved that POMM was live with Francis almost giggling in places. I went back afterwards and fast forwarded to the end. Nice to see the energy of a live performance of Whatever you Want recorded in 2000 but it was way to fast. My understanding is that TOTP was always mimed. I've even gone off RAOTW and was a bit meh when that came on but I loved it back when it came out. What I also noticed is that if you only listen to Quo's chart material, you don't appreciate how varied their songs/tracks are from their albums. I'm sure that's how the 3 chord tag stuck. And why I couldn't understand it as I'd only listened to complete albums. Spot on Curiousgirl! I have always felt the same, and thats also why more or less every compilation album has felt a bit boring. If more people had got to hear the entire albums or at least compilations of ”non-single-hits” I bet Quo’s reputation in rock history would have been totally different

TOTP wasn't always mimed. There are plenty of examples of singing live in the studio. The end credits used to have The TOTP Orchestra and Backing Vocals by The Ladybirds, if I remember right. I don't think ROLD was ever properly on TOTP. I only heard it once and that was playing over the end credits showing the studio audience dancing for less than 2 minutes. I didn't bother with yesterdays showing on BBC4. I had assumed it was a repeat, as is much of BBC4s output.

TOTP started to allow live vocals in the 90s and of course Quo did two separate dates in 2000/01 to do a bunch of live tracks for their TOTP special.
You can hear live vocals on their performances of Let's Work Together and I Didn't Mean It... And their first performance of Pictures Of Matchstick Men had live vocals, noticeable due to the fact Rossi laughs at someone in the audience and it's audible

I made an assumption on comments from artists who have appeared on it in the past. Ah, sad about ROLD not being on TOTPs properly. I do remember it in the Radio 1 charts though.
