Suprised that Rossi seems to hate it, i thought it'd be right up his strasse. The first half of the album "didn't sound like Quo", according to him. He previously didn't like Dave Edmunds' production on Red Sky, claiming it made Quo sound like ZZ Top. Probably also doesn't like AC because only a few of his tracks made it onto the album.

So I checked it out again (I remembered it from the one time I heard before after comments on here. And I like it. Here's the extended remix that Quoincidence mentioned. Yep, good solo from Pip too. As a Quo ballad goes, its one of their good ones to my ears. Soft rock rather than pop. Many a a year since I heard the extended mix. One of those songs that if it wasn’t Quo would be held in higher regard.

I can understand why he didn't like "Red Sky". Not really his thing, and i guess he felt a bit of a fraud singing it, all that American imagery and pseudo-hard rock riffing 'out on the highway'. But didn't mind singing a song about soldiers training for war.
''Cos I'm a prima donna, gonna go ahead I'm gonna, gonna get my own way if I can...'

I bet a few Quo fans when they heard Red Sky thought that might be a cool, modern sound for Quo. If we parallel ZZ Top, they rode the 80's changes with keeping their crunching riffs but modernising the sound with synths and MTV friendly videos. Then, when that passed they went back to basics. If only Quo had followed a similar path!

Outstanding song, well crafted and played.
Surrounded by worst drivel they’d produced in past 5 years.
Shame that..
